My comment was meant to be ironic.
Why stupid? The end of the century is too far away to be held accountable for the bullshit and at the same time the readers of the Independent are granted that cozy feeling or reinforced belief that “man” in general (minus them, their family and some other people deemed worthy) is evil and the end of the world is nigh which serves to keep them as readers.
Win-Win for them. So it’s not stupid but just a normal, blatant, unethical lie.
I am sick of the global warming lies. GeoEngineering is just as evil.
The Indy is so insanely barn-pot green in some ways it’s actually worse than the Guardian, which is saying something.
Go on their website (if you dare) and you’ll see there’s climate articles that are months old. Every single one is straight out of climate propaganda central. Claiming the penguins are gonna get it just as record sea ice is reported is entirely in keeping.
It’s not a serious newspaper, it’s a comic.
I told them and told them. The Green’s new idea of saving the polar bear by moving a population to Antarctica would not be helpful.

Penguiins do not need ice. There is a large and healthy population of penguins that live in Australia – the hottest, driest, flattest continent on the planet.
And South Africa. There are colonies on many islands off the Southern African coast.

Now these are certainly not Kings and Emperors, but I am sure those species could do with a little extra warmth though it is unlikely to materialize.
I remember seeing a documentary on South Georgia where the scientists interviewed said ominously that climate change was causing the King penguin numbers to increase.
