USHCN has been losing station data at a phenomenal rate. This is due to a combination of station loss and unreported data from currently operational stations. When they don’t have data for a particular month at a particular station, they fabricate data for that month, supposedly based on other stations. The percentage of fabricated monthly data is now over 40%, and will be at 100% by around 2020 if current trends continue.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Now both teams have hockey sticks!
Based on the amount of undocumented and unjustified “adjustments”, one could argue that they have already reached the 100% fabrication level.
I agree. But 40% of the data is now 100% fabricated.
http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/earthonfire/
Interesting show.
Catalyst shows that the major fires in New Mexico and Tasmania are mainly due to a lack of minor fires reducing fuel loads and, as we all know, firebugs lighting fires in high summer. Then after showing why, they bring in the rubbish about CO2 and climate change right at the end. Can’t help themselves. Still it’s an interesting program.
And in 2021, it will be 110% fabricated.
In 2020, will weather reporters have to get permission from the government to state the actual temperature? Maybe they’ll be required to add 3 degrees to all reported temps.
Aren’t they doing that already? My local rural weather station usually has 1-3 degrees added the next day when it is “Officially Reported”
Isn’t that what Krigging is allabout?
Just think of all the money we’ll save not having to pay all those people to read thermometers.
Heck we won’t even need to buy thermometers…
I predict that by 2020 we will have entered a whole new world of virtualized climate science with parameterized extrapolated homogenization of pseudo-vector data points, with links to string theory.
This new system shall, with astonishing accuracy, tell us what the weather should have been.
🙂
As I understand it, 97% of climate “scientists” agree that only fabricated data is useful.
Are scientists unable to do what engineers can?
Just set up some thermocouples and have computers sample every half second. It’s not 1983 or even 1993 any longer, memory, disk space, and network speeds are no longer an issue for plain text stuff like that.
The only reason to have less real data is a desire to have less real data.
They did that with a few stations and decided to move them closer to the building. (Cord length will influence readings)
You would think they could come up with a method to set up thermocouples in the middle of nice grassy fields and send the signals via cell phones or satellite or whatever.
Sounds like a great niche use for solar panels doesn’t it?
In Australia, remote emergency roadside phones are powered by solar panels. An existing example of a good niche use for solar power.
Solar powered stop lights, driveway/sidewalk marker lights and solar powered electric fence chargers are other great ideas.
Very small correction phone are battery powered, solar cells maintains the battery charge. Like these http://www.kjeng.com.au/series7.php
But otherwise yes it all works very reliably.
They could use a GL and solar panel to charge batteries to run it. Send someone out to exchange memory sticks every so often…. or use some wireless networking.
This is easy cheap stuff. There’s no excuse for not having the data. They must not want the data.

… Just set up some thermocouples and …
Thermocouples are so passe; better to check out what is available to today to do the job.

I’d like to see plots of raw vs. final individual stations then to understand if this is spotty data or in fact real zombie stations that just die completely but then live on again above ground, the later being a bigger scandal.
I’m aware of the bizarre loss instead of gain of thermometer stations once alarm kicked in, but this is a much more potent issue. Use of anomalies in some sense makes the effect of cold region station loss less prone to affect trends in the final product, but here you find a trend difference not due to controversial urban heat effects, or as a complex result of station drop out itself, but as a potential pure and rather funding convenient artifact of the nature of the *adjustments* and data infilling of their software itself.
+1
“I’m aware of the bizarre loss instead of gain of thermometer stations once alarm kicked in, but this is a much more potent issue.”
Bizarre loss, yes, but only because we automatically assume honesty on their part. Once I became convinced that they were fraudsters, it was not so bizarre at all. The great dying of thermometers, the relocations, the bad sites with pavement, the egregious “adjustments” — they all made perfect sense.
This is exactly why it’s so important to show our own work as skeptics, which Steve does not often do, so his mistakes become an urban myth that all skepticism is baseless and incompetent. After all, there are details involved. For over two years Steve promoted an adjustments hockey stick that was merely due to lack of anomaly use as data was slow to be reported during each year, and his hockey stick blade did not at all show up in any final product. Now his reputation stinks, so it behooves him to show his damn work already like Willis does on WUWT and McIntyre does on ClimateAudit.org, teasing apart the real details.
SHOW THE PLOTS STEVE. Individual stations, raw versus final. Show the claimed zombie data itself. I shouldn’t have to waste my time even writing this. It’s an extra task now since after two accounts have been banned here I can’t post from my iPhone any more, since the Twitter log on won’t work on any iPhone browser.

I provide massive amounts of documentation,on this site, and no amount of documentation will ever do. My work upsets both alarmists and skeptics who don’t want to see this scam end.
You could pull finger and run Steve’s code. You can’t do that with BEST.
So when do you see the tipping point ?
We will have no real data, just virtual data.
Virtual data to go with the virtual science …
Wait just a minute. ?!?? How’s the Colorado Drought going? It’s not? Oh. Now there’s no end in sight to Colorado Flooding? Or is that ‘no end in sight to the above average snowpack’?

Steve, you probably want to cover this…

Liar, liar pants on fire Obama does it again!
It just leaves me enraged!!!!!
ARRGHHhhhh….
I think I better take a walk and feed my goats before I throw something, like that sledge hammer…
And if current trends continue –
Hilary defends the swap!

So A SECOND TERM president, a CONSTITUTIONAL LAWYER no less, AFTER discussions with Congress decides to completely ignore the RULE OF LAW and do what he d@mn well pleases.
There is a word that describes this ‘point of view’ – DICTATOR.
The democrats, up for re-election must really be squirming at this point.
…..
Oh, and this is not the first Obama release of foreign criminals.
I guess the only target for law enforcement these days is White Male Rednecks like Bundy….
No, what he released where 36,000 new potential Democrat voters …
“were” not “where” … damn!
He’s toast!
Nobody survives a MAD magazine spoof.
Obama stars in Trading Private Bergdahl or
they got five taliban leaders, we got one deserting weasel.

The amazing thing is I was sure Jimmy Carter was going to retain the reputation as the worst President of people’s lifetimes. But look who’s making a sprint for the finish.
Carter was nothing compared to, to, to, the Mø??€¶F³²***ing aßwipe idiot in the WH right now.
I would love to have Carter back in the White house instead of the Affirmative Action President.
I really, really hope the Republicans give us something to vote for this time around instead of the usual slate of
badly camouflaged democratsRinos we usually get stuck with.Where’s the new Reagan?
I’d take Carter back right now. Instead of Yellen we’d have someone like Voker.
14% interest rates would set a lot straight now and reward the prudent instead of the debtors and the gamblers.
How does the USHCA lose stations? Does it shut them down for budgetary reasons? Or is communication with a station lost and the USHCA just writes it off? Also, why do working stations report incomplete data? Bad equipment? If so, why doesn’t USHCA replace it rather than extrapolating the data based on output from other stations? USHCA protocols seem to be highly irresponsible, which really doesn’t surprise me, since it is a government bureaucracy and failure to do one’s job effectively is rarely punished.
