Sir, for an appropriate consideration, you would be surprised what we can get through.
The person who posted the idea that coral reef could not survive about 550 ppm of CO2 does not understand or cares to look up how coral reefs are formed. As a scuba diver I am very familiar with coral and coral reefs.A coral/coral reef is made of calcium carbonate which grows from a symbiotic relationship between the animal and a plant and is build by the animal (the animal is related to jelly fish, sea urchins and the like) using carbon fixation, taking CO2 out of the air/water and turning it into the stoney part of the reef, thus higher levels of CO2 ultimately produces more/bigger reefs. (I glossed over parts to make it short, but you get the picture).
People fail to understand that all plants and animals (including us) NEED CO2 to survive our bodies have CO2 sensors which tells us to breath, if you breath too much or pure oxygen you will die.
scott…actually it’s the carbonate in the water….corals have to lower the pH, internally, with CO2 to make it soluble first….then they incorporate it into their matrix
…it’s the same carbonate that makes lowering the pH of oceans with CO2 impossible
as I said I glossed over steps, the basic idea was, CO2 is not bad for corals

Reefs like warm water – I live at a mere 27 degrees South and there are almost no live coral reefs in the pacific at this latitude.
Go north and they proliferate.

Peer reviewed science clearly makes the case that corals evolved in the 1970s.
Even worse, sea level rise will kill all the coral because they can’t live underwater.

The fact that she’s a geologist makes her tweet all the more curious. Like Hansen she’s obviously realized that the dark side pays better.
