Second Coldest First Half Of The Year On Record In Illinois

The first six months of 2014 were the second coldest on record in Illinois.

Changing station composition (loss of rural stations) likely skews recent temperatures too high. NOAA adjusts for these spuriously high temperatures, by making them even higher through the use of infilling and gridding – thus transforming rural stations into urban ones.

… enjoying a rather cool year and in particular a relatively ‘cool’ June (for us) down here in normally hot del norte central Tejas too …

  2. Because of my business I talk to farmers everywhere and in almost all cases they can see that global warming is a hoax just by how their crops grow. And this spring is definitely a very late spring for most of them. The heat units just were not there.

4th of July forecast for Berlin, NY is 73 degrees F for a high. This is way below normal. Last night was the first time this year I had some windows open at night! Generally, it has been 5-10 degrees below normal at night.

I’ve spent most of June in St. Louis. Based anecdotally on the ten years I lived here, this sure has seemed like an unusually cool June.
