The station at Nhill, Australia is in farm country on the edge of town – about 50 metres from a road. It shows temperatures were hotter during some years in the early 20th century, and no general trend in maximum temperature.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Do they irrigate more now than before? Even watering the lawns cools the air.
Yep, cools just like asphault roads and roofs. Just ask an alarmist.
From the look of that picture, I’d say probably not. 🙂
Here in San Diego they’re saying its the “Hottest Summer Ever.. since 1984″… I don’t believe it..
Steven or anyone… any idea where I could go to get unadjusted data for this area?
It is warm this year, especially at night compared to other years because the ocean is warmer than normal, currents from the south pushing warm water up here.
Mosher and the BEST crew would be able to turn that into an alarming warming slope with some of their special turd polish!!

I went to the BOM data base and could not find any long term temperature data for Nhill. Just a short data stream from the nearby airport. Did find a long record nearby for Horsham. http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/data/
If CISRO is using the data I’m looking at; they are doing a lot of splicing from sites not even close by.
SMS, I went to the BOM link you provided. I also went to “About Climate Data On-Line”. There is no indication that I could find that the data they provide is adjusted or raw. I searched those 2 web pages for “raw” “adjust” and “homog” – and found nothing. How good is that?
They recently installed irrigation at the golf course at Nhill. Perhaps this had a devastating effect on the climate record!!

Nhill is on the edge or the dry arid Mallee district. Without irrigation you would be playing golf in a big bunker.
Nhill is a very progressive town, and was the first Victorian town after the state capital, Melbourne, to be supplied with electricity. Electric lighting was installed in 1892
