A Resurgence Of Continental Drift In The UK

Weeeeeee!
Aye laddie, yon canny Scots ‘ill tak’ their way ‘n aflitting from havering Sassenach scunners ‘n chancers. Norway or Greenland, hell ev’n yon EU!
‘N bye-the-bye a wee dram thrice, ‘n a bonnie braw sing.
🙂
Would the Metropolitan Police return Scotland Yard and would a Scottish Prime Minister stay there during visits abroad? Or would Alex Salmond as a thrifty Scottish Socialist lease it back to them and stay in a cheap hotel?
The Met has already seen the light. One of London’s most famous buildings, the Metropolitan Police’s headquarters, has gone on the property market.

BTW, what are the two most important things to come out of Scotland?
Scotch & the road south!!
Time to read up on Loch Ness and plate tectonics.
unlikely to happen, most likely outcome of the vote on independence will be a no vote .
Ye tak the yea road and I’l tak the no
and ye’ll be insolvent before me
and me an’ ma true love
will never save again
in the bonnie, bonnie banks near loch lomand
Brilliant! 🙂
In case Scotland becomes independent, they shall not scrap their luck by wanting to re-enter in EU! When someone excapes from a black hole, common sense says “don’t return”!
That’s the problem I have with the Catalan politicians that want to separate from Spain but stay in the EU. They don’t like it when Madrid dictates the rules but if the rules come from Brussel they are ok.
My goal is Catalonia a free country outside the EU.

Catalan outside the EU? Like Scotland without EU subsidies, it’ll whither up and return to the poverty-stricken days of old.
So what you’re saying is that we need BIG government.
Without the Catalan taxpayers Spain would not survive.
a precis, for the folks in the USA
In less than a week, the folks in Scotland will vote on whether to become a seperate country.
If they vote yes, it will be a triumph for democracy, Scotland will become seperated from the UK. They will almost certainly have socialist/green government for the next couple of generations
Their stated aim is to have 100% enegy produved by renewables, quite soon.
The UK will lose 10% of its manpower, economy plus some important bases etc.
England will never have a socialist government again
If they vote No. It will be a big win for democracy.
The UK government will have to throw a big sop to Scotland, to make the issue go away, taxation and spending probably. The UK will remain stronger, albeit poorer.
Cross-roads, no wars is a good thing, a triumph for democracy, as you say.
UK should export their “methods” to Russia and Ukraine.
With Brent oil now below $100 per barrel most of Scotland’s new discoveries will be uneconomic for development without a considerable lightening of the tax load.
In a world awash with oil despite middle east disruption and Russian intransigence, Wee Eck will need to get his abacus out.
The world glut must be what he means when he says big oil are bullying Scotland.
There is a lot of bollocks being talked here about Scotland.
Earlier this year it was bollocks about Sweden and Switzerland. Everyone can get a turn.
And look at the bright side.
We may talk bollocks but at least we seem to know where Scotland is *). Imagine the plight of these guys:

*) Scotch & the road south!!
The EU managed to lose Wales a decade ago.

Sadly I think it will be ‘no’ (to independence), so the Scots will carry on being brave socialists, and we English will carry on footing the bill. Och aye the noo.
Kinda like the US and California.
