For demonstrator Favianna Rodriguez, climate change is inextricable from social issues like feminism and immigration policy. To protest a “culture of hypersexuality,” she marched topless, with yellow butterfly stickers over each nipple.
Rodriguez works with CultureStrike, an organization that supports the arts movement around immigration, but she helped design signs for the Climate March because she says climate change is an example of social inequality.
“The destruction we’re facing has been wrought under male leadership, and women and children are disproportionately affected,” she said. “Addressing climate change is going to require a very strong shift in leadership, and require us to include the vision of women and youth.”

“Women and children are disproportionately affected.” It’s true. Because women and children are shorter than adult men, on average, rising sea levels will submerge them faster.
That’s a ‘No shit, Sherlock’ moment…women and CHILDREN are the majority of the population of the planet…to bad about half those CHILDREN will turn out to be men (some time after their 26th birthday, of course).
But then the logic fails, because how can the majority of the population suffer a disproportionate effect, unless it is LESS than what men would suffer? Which she, Rodriguez, was NOT implying…
… unless they came across the US border illegally then they can be “children” well into their 40’s, assuming they have gang and/or cartel connections.

She should have watched a BBC drama series entitled “Call the Midwife”. It was about the horrendous living conditions women struggled to live with and give birth in during the 1950’s in England.
