My car thermometer reported -24F driving past the Budweiser brewery in Fort Collins this morning.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

It’s just your imagination, Comrade. In the New Brave World order Cold is Hot and don’t question the ManBearPig again.
Just in time for the Rose Bowl / Parade…
Freeze Warning for Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley, CA
http://www.weather.com/weather/alerts/localalerts/l/USCA0840:1:US?phenomena=FZ&significance=W&areaid=CAZ548&office=KLOX&etn=0009&tid=707290
In Pasadena the last time it snowed beyond a dusting was in 1948 I think. And then only in the foothills. No precipitation is forecast, but from the link:
THE PASADENA AREA WILL SEE 3 TO 4 HOURS OF FREEZING TEMPERATURES EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. .. [plus:] STRONG WINDS WITH GUSTS OVER 60 MPH WILL CONTINUE .. to pummel the thousands camped out in Pasadena for the Rose Parade, lol.
California was getting a warning for low elevation snow yesterday from the National Weather Service.
Now it is
Graupel is precipitation that forms when supercooled droplets of water are collected and freeze on a falling snowflake, forming a 2–5 mm (0.079–0.197 in) ball. It is called snow pellets , also soft hail.
Still waiting to get snow at Pasadena at 1000 feet. I mean snow blanketing the whole area. When that happens the next thing is probably hell freezing over. Then the warmist loons couldn’t object to a campaign saying “we need more CO2 emissions to keep hell hot!” Problem is that CO2 doesn’t do squat.
And it happened in the San Diego Mountains last night with more expected. Thinking of taking my grandsons over tomorrow or the next day to have a snow ball fight. If it snows as low as Alpine, as predicted, its going to be deep on the Sunset Highway by Pine Valley. Then we can come back to Yuma where it will be in the mid-50’s.
Be careful Ice Age Now reports the San Bernardino Mtns has 300 cars stuck.

OH MY! The heat hidden in the ocean is coming bubbling up out of the ocean near Tonga!!!
See all that Black Carbon?

My wife and I ran through a blizzard up there only a few years ago (2 or 3). When I lived there, I remember going up there to the snow in the winter. The irony is from the coast to the summit, it is all up! So you can get beach weather and then a blizzard. With only an hours drive.
“More breweries” is a global warming solution I can support.
Denver set an all-time cold temperature for the date, according to Channel 9 this morning, with records going back to the 1800’s.
Just survived a car crash . We are ok but the front part of the car has changed a little bit. Don’t know if my car thermometer still works.
Happy New Year
Here’s to wishing you Robertv and everyone else will find next year to be better than this one in the most important ways.
Glad to hear you are OK.
Sorry for the car, Robert, and hurray for you! We don’t want your front part reconfigured.
We wish you good health and better luck with the machinery in 2015!
¡Prospero año nuevo!

You argued with a truck?! I’m happy everyone’s OK.
I can see you’re an expert. Luckily it was a small one.
Not much of an expert but the sharply creased left fender and the damage on the hood indicate a collision with a higher sitting truck frame. About a meter further back would have been bad for the driver. I’ve survived a few accidents I didn’t cause and I always marvel about the fractions of seconds that decide the outcomes.
You are right—this was a lucky way to have bad luck.
Yes those ‘fractions of seconds’ are lots of fun. Especially when you are sitting in a line of stopped cars and there is zero you can do about it. I had my first car accordioned between two others. The rear car had come over a hill at high speed and the stoplight was red. I had just put the last payment on the car loan into the mail a few minutes before.
We have had a lot fewer accidents since moving south. I do not miss Boston traffic.
Washington post trumpeting fact that anchorage Alaska didn’t have a single below zero day in 2014 more cherry picking and hype about age
It’s not even true, according to this :
http://classic.wunderground.com/history/airport/PAMR/2014/2/11/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA
-0.9F at 04:53 am on February 11th. That’s a below zero day.
Not an official NWS station like http://classic.wunderground.com/history/airport/PANC/2014/2/11/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA
Only -17°C but at 8.53 am it dropped to -17.8°C. That’s sub 0°F.
More importantly, Jan of 2012 had 17 days in a row that dropped below 0F and was the coldest Jan for a few decades. How does this global warming work again?
Wonder how many days below 0 in Fairbanks?
Bula,
I my part of gods own we are having a run of +30 degree (C) days and it is as dry as a Hindi’s gym boot. No decent rain since June and the stock are running short of feed. Pattern very similar to 1985-86.
Have a happy New year!
So, Budweiser Slurpees® or Michelob® Sno Cones?
I had no idea Budweiser had a brewery in CO.
Oh, come now; Colorado isn’t THAT barbarian (though evidently it IS rather redneck). 🙂
Colorado is not Redneck, it is flooded with people from California. The Rednecks would just like them to go back to California so they can drink their beer (Coors) in peace.
InBev must have installed a new CO2 sequestering unit.
A very fleeting sequestration, unless you burry the beer.
Well I’ll do my part and not crack a cap, tap, tab, or cork on any suds today. I won’t even drink my usual Jack Daniels and coke. Instead I think I will start with a snifter of Grand Marnier. Then later possibly move on to dry Absolute Martinis on the rocks with with Blue Cheese stuff olives. The only remaining excursion outside today will be to retrieve the trash cans and get the mail out of the box. Then I will sit down with my ex-fiance and just play some games and relax and fool around. So other than a fire in the fireplace and most probably some heavy breathing later in the evening, the CO2 emissions will be low today. You see 32 years ago today at the stroke of midnight I asked my Lady to marry me. And despite being away from home quite a bit in the intervening years I have missed only one midnight when I could not ask her again. So New Years means more than just a point in time and Auld Lang Syne to us.
Are you accusing Budweiser of producing beer? Shame on you.
It was only after a couple years after I got back from Germany that I could even think about drinking any of the American mass produced swill even when it was free and absolutely nothing else was available at a social gathering. Even to this day I only have the stuff in my house for guests.
Go with the micro breweries – some are as good as German beer.
And if you must buy Budweiser, buy the Czech beer.
A legend of the Bohemian Budweiser burghers says the only way to grasp the wretched ancestry of their beer is having at least six of them.
I recall that after five the narrative became tolerable. After eight I understood everything.
If you don’t believe it buy a case and sit down with the following passage:
Have a Happy New Year!
I have 3 more to go to agree with you.
But Happy New Year in case my eyes cross by then!
Stark, I know the brew is at most schwach dünnflüssig but it’s a travesty I can’t get a more collegial peer review!
Here goes the correction:
I refer the honorable gentleman to the remarks I made some moments ago.
“Are you accusing Budweiser of producing beer? “
That is what Budweiser has all those great big Clydesdales for.
Mmm, yeah the Czech “Budweiser” is amazing stuff. I’ve seen it sold here as “Czechvar”.
Yes, it’s been marketed under that name for a few years now. It looks like an effort to create a permanent brand for America. I guess the Czechvar label is a play on the name they use over there: Budweiser Budvar (Budweiser Budbrew).
http://www.czechvar.com/story-of-czechvar-beer.html
http://www.beersofeurope.co.uk/budweiser-budvar
These two beer-loving brothers compared Czechvar with Budweiser. They were not afraid to cast judgment on both brews (foul language warning):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MUNPGYje2A
At 3:05 they sniff the beers and speculate about the King of Beers brewing method:
I only had it once, and then by accident. But it was good enough.
“You can never buy beer, you just rent it.
– Archibald Bunker
Yeah, but after you extract the alcohol and carbs for your own use it really is just piss water.
This method is a tad more permanent but I haven’t seen any rainforest at the brewery yet …
Steve, can we get that in 0.1? readings. Maybe even 0.01? LOL
BTW, on a Mac Option + K will get you: ?
Looks like the good Lord above has a deep sense of humor. Ending the “mann-made” hottest year ever with record cold. To all of you all the best for 2015, especially for Tony!
Rgds from Santiago, Chile
Matt
And here I thought the Good Lord was giving Pope Frank a ‘sign.’
Since he has made it known he aligns the Church with those pushing CAGW, the weather has been rough, especially in his neck of the woods and his target, the USA.
http://iceagenow.info/
Gail,
Your point & rightly said so. In a bigger picture however we may take this as annother example for the sense of humor the good Lord has…. It is the decision of the Catholic
Church to try to fool him. My reading, only.
Have a great 2015,
Matt
Matt,
The good Lord would have to have a good sense of humor to deal with us humans. Otherwise he would have wiped us out a long long time ago.
This thread is funny because breweries produce enormous amounts of CO2. I wonder why they can’t grow palm trees near the brewery.
Because all the pot plants are slurping up the CO2 instead.
Very good.
That’s not Mann made CO2, it’s made by all natural yeast so the Warmists will have to figure out how to tax and enslave yeast cells like people.
NAH, The FDA is just banning it.
….Then they came for the Roquefort
Better enjoy toset good cheeses this evening. Because after tonight it will be nothing but Velveeta processed cheese product. Is the next step Soylent Green?
Gail,
Sometimes……, well, lets just say that sometimes I get rather radical right wing fantasies about direct action and lets leave it at that.
First they tried to come after my firearms. Then they came to dictate how my septic tank and laterals must be set up. Then they came to dictate how much water my toilet can use. Then they came for my incandescent light bulbs. Then they have worked so very hard to make my electric and heating costs go up. Then they made my health insurance rates sky rocket and as I write this my next grand baby that is obviously ready to come into this world is being made to wait despite the fact that her mother is so swollen on her right side with pitting edema that she can hardly move. All because of the new insurance rules. And then they say they their wanting to come after my Christmas lights. And now they want to take my Blue Cheese away and are instituting new regulations to bring the price of gasoline up again?
BTW less than 1 year after making a major change in the hours of service rules the US DOT rescinded it as of the 1st of December. January of this year they instituted the 168 hour rule. The rule required that a driver could only reset his/her 70 hours of on duty time to zero hours used by taking a 34 hour break no sooner than 168 hours after the last 34 hour break began. It further required that the 34 hour reset time must include two periods of 01:00 to 05:00. Well the dumbasses didn’t figure on something any experienced truck driver could have told them. By doing that they were ensuring that more drivers would be driving during the high traffic hours a fewer during the lower traffic hours at night. Increased congestion = increased accidents. It’s just that simple and any one with a lick of common sense would have known that.
Yes I do have fantasies sometimes.
The Dutch had a violent Bread and Cheese Revolt and the Israelis had a fierce Cottage-Cheese Rebellion.
Are we not red-blooded enough to have at least a little Blue Cheese Insurrection within the established statutory framework?
Those are not fantasies – they are realities.
rah

WTF! They are idiots. All the 34 hr break was supposed to do was make sure you got a breather and were well rested instead of driving back to back for weeks on end without a decent break.
Now they are regimenting exactly WHEN a driver can drive and when he can not? What the heck does that do to the team drivers?
What next national schedulers for the entire US fleet…
(I should not give them ideas.)
Maybe you should get a Mexican CDL.
Well Gail this one will get you to. When they came out with the 168 hour rule they also instituted another rule requiring a 1/2 hour kindergarten nap time. A driver must log a .5 hour break between the 3rd and 8th duty hour and cannot work over 8 hours without taking that break. That one still remains in effect. DOT wants truck drivers to be more like government workers it seems.
rah,
Doesn’t our government’s concern for you make you feel all warm and squishy? Like a dirty diaper? You know the one they must think we all are wearing.
Resistance is futile. There are too many of these stories to link separately so have a gander at the search results for the terms “pasteurized milk swat team raid” click the “images” link upper right as well for a really depressing start to the new year. No wonder cops are getting a bad rep.
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=pasteurized+milk+swat+team+raid
Niel, They also raided Church bake sales in PA under the guise of Food Safety.
I started my road to discovering just how corrupt the US government is with the targeting of our food supply. The MAD SHEEP saga was one of the trial balloons to see if the USDA could get away with terrorizing farmers and US citizens.
More on the Raw Milk Story
That is a very revealing statement by the US government. There were others that showed up during the ‘Food Fight’
The MAD SHEEP SAGA
USDA asserts in Court, “The farmers have no rights.” That is from a quick Time Line from the book “Mad Sheep” by Linda Faillace.
Linda Faillace wrote a more fleshed out time line HERE.
Of particular note is this:
Finally years later the last of the story is told. The Sheep killed and the straws of frozen ram semen destroyed was all for nothing. The sheep did not have the disease AND THE USDA KNEW IT! USDA Treachery Proved!
The other early trial balloon against farmers was carried out on a former DEA agent of all things!
The Henshaw Incident:
http://nonais.org/2006/09/29/henshaw-incident/
Unfortunately Walter has shut down that blog but it might be on the wayback machine
The following is still up but doesn’t carry the details.
http://www.readthehook.com/stories/2006/10/05/COVER-boarSlaughter-F.doc.aspx
Cindi Henshaw was actually on line posting to the NoNAIS site during her house arrest and later nearby members of the board went over to investigate the story. Again the government was so far out of line it was jaw dropping.
Here are some snippets I copied at the time.
This is very important. The Government Authorities hauled off the bodies of the hogs, who were a ‘health risk’ leaving a large bloody trail going down the road.
Then there was the trial with an idiot lawyer named Norman.
philjourdan says:

Colorado,
This is not only going to hit the imports but all the micro dairies so beloved of the snobbish left. It may also hit their micro breweries and wineries.
You want to see a revolt, take the high class wine and cheese away from Occupy Wall Street crowd!
I’ve heard about them! They threw £380 a pound donkey cheese on the Persian rugs, stomped it in and marched down to join the people’s occupation of Fortnum and Mason.

The universal flag of human oppression seen at the 4:37 part of the vid; the hammer and sickle on a red background flag with the words “Communist Party” across the bottom …

This global warming is making me sick.
warmer weather arrived in Southern Alberta, currently 32 F, so i’ll take it, just yesterday we were at -15F…however, cold is coming back as the front shifts back to the west of us, putting us back into cold….
Some people (climate scientists) like to place their thermometers in the tailpipe. It’s a lot hotter there.
But.. That’s where their papers come out..!
Now that is taking putting the beer on ice a bit too literally!
and why are you not using the thermometer on the front of your bike, Tony ? 😉
I wonder if California governor Moonbeam Brown is going to make a statement about the snow?
(Governor Moonbeam signed a bill into law that not only redefines marriage, but eliminates any reference to husband and wife, replacing each with the generic term of spouse.)
He got the name moonbeam 40 years ago. He has not changed. He is to be studied. How an adult homosapien can remain static for that extended period of time.
Progressivism causes Cerebral atrophy.
http://media.ourstory.com/11/77/91/25ee81ee77b82306c31f7ce1a4268d8faba96982/9281731847a820e2f518ef9e8a5a06c110ce50c6-l.jpg
So how did you get Moonbeams Skull Cat Scan? You are a witch! 😉
Not Moonbeans (sp) CAT scan. the brain is to large by several orders of magnitude
Now that is a great one and will be send out to others that will get a chuckle from it just like I did.
happy new year 🙂
I would like to defend Gov. Moonbeam. No, really I would. But all I could come up with in his defense is that he seems very sincere in his delusions. (sorry, that is all I have)
Some here who know me a bit might ask, “why did the market anarchist decided to try to defend Gov. Moonbeam?” That is a fair question, so I’ll attempt an answer.
Gov. Moonbeam is a hopeless dolt, but you have to compare him to other politicians to be fair. It does no good to compare him to regular citizens (as doltish as they may be). But Moonbeam’s greatest fault might be summed up by the following Mencken quote:
Gov. Moonbeam is certain that his policies will make for a better world. Totally positive. And that is a great danger to the populous.
And with that, a happy new year to all my truly civilized friends. (the skeptical and tolerant ones)
Damned by faint praise.
Happy New Year to you Mark.
Our New Years day is starting out with the temperatures a balmy 23°F (minus 5°C) BRRrrrr. We moved here because it rarely snows…
Grumble, Washington DC is 300 miles north of us and 29.9 °F.
That would put me about 200 miles north of you, now 40F and 11:47AM.
Bureaucrats emit hot air as well as politicians.
Yea Phil. I long for the good old days when there was no A/C and Congress would leave the swamplands of DC for the whole summer because it was just too darn uncomfortable and unhealthy to stick around.
I already got into trouble for talking about “the good old days”.
So I will just say “yea”. 😉
“No man’s life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session.” — Mark Twain
“The essence of science is that it is always willing to abandon a given idea for a better one; the essence of theology is that it holds its truths to be eternal and immutable.” — H L Mencken
The idea that CO2 controls our climate or weather is religion. It is time to ditch that fantasy and get back to doing science.
Forecast for North America is still unfavorable. Polar vortex will remain shifted, allowing the flow of air from the Arctic to the south.
