You forgot the Clim-Astrologists favorite modifier ‘COULD’ that makes the statement an unfalsifiable ‘PROJECTION’ and not a falsifiable ‘PREDICTION’ — just ask the IPCC or any weaselly Clim-Astrologist. {:>D

Thanks for that. Up until now, I didn’t really understand the difference between prediction and projection.
It is one of the most annoying things about the Clim-Astrologists. I am sure they got it from a close study of the methods of their colleagues the Astrologists.
You cannot tell the difference between a projection and a prediction until much later. If it does not happen, it was a projection. If it does happen, it was a prediction.
I wish I was joking — but that really is how low “climate scientists” have fallen.

Mark Serreze should be well aware that there is nothing unusual about an ice-free North Pole and has nothing to do with global warming. It has happened at times during the 20th century, and even the alarmists at the NOAA are not alarmed. See here.
That’s alright Gail, I’ll still hold it against them, just as if they said it “would” be ice free. I merely apply black and white (Or red and black if that suits one) standards to their perpetually gray world view.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Climatologists are inept as compared to competent military leaders. A competent military leader understands that it is almost impossible for any operational plan to survive first contact with the enemy. That is why they have contingency plans. People think that the primary function of staff work is to create a workable plan of action. In practice though the real value of staff work is that it provides the commander and his subordinates, right down to lowest level leaders, with the information they need to quickly formulate workable contingencies when the original plan(s) turn out to be impossible to carry out.
Climatologists fail time and again to plan contingencies and are very slow and inept at formulating them on the run when their original estimates turn out to be unsupportable.
Reality vs Hegalian thought modes strike again.
