The Mt Vernon Bike Trail goes right past the end of the runway at Reagan National Airport. There is a park there and people sit at the end of the runway and watch the planes take off.

The runway faces straight towards the White House, so the pilots have to turn quickly left to avoid being shot down by surface to air missiles.
Is the White House occupant afraid of ordinary citizens?
Pilots have been doing some pretty crazy stuff recently.
Crazier than Obama?
Pretty amazing how the pilot gets the plane to fly upside down without doing a barrell roll …

is keeping up the lies about the warmest year ever. No greater threat than climate change.

And indeed the climate change bogus religion is the greatest threat: it will cost us billions of taxpayers money and it will bring our civilisation back to the Stone Ages
Correction. It will bring the West back to the Stone Age. Elsewhere they pay lip service, but continue with normals operations without skipping a beat. The Chinese are watching with incredulous amusement as we Westerners implode our own societies with loony beliefs on CO2.
Well, one craft did make it to the white house lawn 🙂
That was Congress. There would be no chance of making it to the White House
OT – Tanana River ice has reached the minimum 110 day break up record (1940 &1998) and is still looking reasonably robust. 15 more days to reach the 98 year average of 125 days (May 5th)

When My daughter was at GW U she picked me up at Reagan International and the first stop was that park. Quite the show. Thanks for reminding me of that memory.

I thought everything turned left quickly in DC.
Harsh cold reality for DC area gardeners:
