You explain well why the rights of US citizens to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness wait.

    • omanuel says:

Republicans must hold the US NAS accountable for diverting public research funds from various federal research agencies to support the false AGW fable of Al Gore and the UN’s IPCC.

If Dr. Ralph Cicerone cannot assure Congress he and the US NAS will not again use public funds to deceive the public, Congress will have to find another way to obtain reliable reviews of the budgets of federal research agencies.

      • omanuel says:

Privately or publicly, individually or collectively, each Republican member of Congress should insist that the President of the National Academy of Sciences, Dr. Ralph Cicerone, tell them exactly WHY:

        1. The internal composition of the Sun was changed from mostly iron (Fe) in 1945 to mostly hydrogen (H) in 1946, . . . (without discussion or debate)?

        2. Physics textbooks replaced Nobel Laureate Francis W. Aston’s rigorously valid “nuclear packing fraction” with von Weizsacker’s “nuclear binding energy,” systematically underestimating instability from neutron repulsion after the Second World War?

The answer will tell them if the NAS is now willing to switch sides and help them restore integrity to government science. If not, they must eliminate NAS’s review of the annual budgets of federal research agencies like DOE, NASA, EPA, etc., etc.

I think perhaps that should be “bleach the bones” instead of “beach the bones”

  6. Noknarak says:

Congress has forgotten that it is a coequal branch of government specifically designed by the Founders to reign in just such an overreaching executive as we have presently. The Congressional power of the purse is a powerful tool but the spineless cowards in Congress lack the testicular fortitude to use it, lest they be blamed for ‘shutting down the government’.

    • omanuel says:

Republicans and Democrats alike rely on a private, self-perpetuating organization – the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) – to review annual budgets of various federal research agencies for Congress.

Winning the AGW debate today will be useless as winning the SHE (Superheavy Element) debate was in 1977 if Congress fails to extract:

      1. A statement of NAS responsibility for misdirecting federal research funds to finance the fraudulent AGW scam, and

      2. A promise that NAS will never again neglect its responsibility to the public and embarrass Congress in this manner.

    Dang!
I was hoping to get a beachfront property on the cheap by buying twenty miles inland, elevation 16 feet.
I planned it just like they sez it was gonna happen!

    Meni;
The only sure thing is that the predictions are wrong. Probably even in direction or sign.
