For Earth Day, I’m renting this OFA sanctioned hybrid in Denver
The hybrid I’m looking for is this 900 HP McClaren P1
Just because Obama uses the same motto as Lenin (Forward) and uses the identical big lie technique to push all of his agendas through, is no reason to be suspicious about his intentions on Earth Day, aka Lenin’s Birthday
A lie told often enough becomes the truth.
– Vladimir Lenin
Nah, trade your hybrid for an SUV, like a lot of others are..

It is dirt cheap to rent and gets almost 50 MPG at 85 MPH. I think I will stick with the hybrid.
… and it will get you through schoolchildren’s Earth Day roadblocks in the People’s Republic of Boulder.
Good point. I will probably be moving to the PRB soon.
I take this leak as a routine double or triple deception. A clever idea, either way. Hiding in a witness protection program right under the noses of Trenberth and Serreze.
If you need a safe house …
Huh. Had a buddy with an old diesel Rabbit/Golf that would get about 50mpg in daily driving. I didn’t realise technology had advanced so much in the last 40 years.
Same here. In fact about five years ago my brother was trying to buy one, and they were not selling cheap.
I had one of those VW rabbits as a pick-up. It was a five speed and got 52 MPG. I would really like to have it back. I have a 4 cycl 5 spd little truck of the same size now and the darn thing barely get 20 mpg.
The McLaren P1 is so old tech, I just ordered one of these:

Let us celebrate the life and work of Earth Day Founder Ira Einhorn, the composting pioneer.
Einhorn is Finkle. Finkle is Einhorn

It’s always a good idea to compost for one’s vegetable garden. What’s not such a hot idea is starting the compost pile in the bedroom closet with an ex-girlfriend.

Check out those carbon emissions from the great Leaders super-polluting factories. OMG Lenin, how could you?
I guess i am still ‘green’ to this climate/communism thing. Earth day on Lenin’s birthday. Irony or clue to the evil plan?
Hitler was born on April 20th. Lenin was born on April 22nd. Earth Day co-founders Ira Einhorn (a Communist) and (then) Wisconsin Sen. Gaylord Nelson (a statist “progressive”) purposely chose to honor them both by creating Earth Day in 1970.

They are selling cheap these days, if at all…
“Sales of new electric cars and hybrids, according to automotive research and shopping site Edmunds.com, are at their lowest level since 2011 — the first full year of sales for the groundbreaking Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid and Nissan’s all-electric Leaf. So carmakers are paring prices in an effort to get them moving.
Furthermore, motorists who leased those first-generation cars, and have decided not to buy them, are turning them in. They’re on dealer lots with still relatively low mileage, and at prices considerably cheaper than the new ones.
Even with $7,500 federal tax credits and other incentives, automakers such as General Motors Co., Ford Motor Co. and Nissan have dropped prices in an attempt to move their new hybrids and electrics. Cadillac became the most recent to reduce the sticker on an electric car, when it whacked $9,000 off its ELR plug-in hybrid last week.”

I had an electric car as a kid, and it was great! As long as it stayed on the track.

You know what would be great? A wind-powered car. We could put Chris Barron behind it & he could blow all day. & if the gummint subsidized each car at around 5000% of its actual manufacturing cost, it might even be profitable!

The faster you drive, the more energy it produces!

I’ve built an electric motorcycle instead….
It’s not quite the Pike’s Peak winning electric motorcycle, but i don’t have that sort of budget http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news–racing-news/electric-bike-wins-pikes-peak/22942.html
Actually, do state EV tax credits include electric motorcycles ?…. That prototype has gone into production $39k

So much performance for next to nothing (compared to an equivalent performing car)

Think I might prefer the 918 over the P1.
The Spyder is powered by a normally-aspirated 4.6 liter V8 engine, developing 608 horsepower (453 kW), with two electric motors delivering an additional 279 horsepower (208 kW) for a combined output of 887 horsepower (661 kW). The 918 Spyder’s 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivers an all-electric range of 12 mi (19 km) under EPA’s five-cycle tests.[1] The car has a top speed of around 340 km/h (210 mph).[3]

Here’s why California is in drought
http://www.upworthy.com/how-nestl-is-using-a-native-american-tribes-land-to-get-away-with-draining-california-dry?c=ufb1
Chris, of the total amount of water devoted to the Delta Smelt, what percentage of that volume of water represents the water bottled by Nestle? Can it even be measured?
Does it matter if the water comes from a bottle, a tap or a hose? You can always tell the Californians to quit drinking water if you are so concerned about potable water.
Get real. Your need to start reading articles based on reality and not fantasy.
California is in drought because they didn’t build the reservoirs they needed 30 years ago and because the greens have taken over the legislature,
Steady on, it was a very tongue in cheek post.
Tap water rocks it for me
My apologies for being so serious.
It’s okay…
Just, “Don’t do it again!”
That is actually a problem in Australia too.
If the second dam had been built in SE Queensland, Tillegra and Welcome Reef had been built in NSW, and the Mitchell River dam had been built in Victoria, there would have never been even a thought of those white elephants called desalination plants.
The Greenies need to get the f*** out the way and let PROGRESS, in this particular case, in the form of dams, happen.
How they ever thought that they could call themselves “progressives” is beyond rational thought. Every idea they have leads to societal regression.
