        The UK has a serious issue caused by the PC Left and Liberals. Most Non-Moslems as afraid of Islam and more afraid of saying so. The Left were totally shocked and horrified when an “uncaring” Tory party was voted in with a clear majority of seats when opinion polls said the Tories were neck and neck with Labour. So much so that a former Lib-Dem politician said he’d eat his hat if the exit polls predicting a Tory win were correct, a Labour advisor also said on the same programme he’d eat his kilt. Neither event has happened so far.

        They’d be even more shocked if there were a referendum on what to do with these jihadis in particular and Islamic extremists in general. Only politicians of the left are crazy enough to think they can be integrated into a multi-cultural society

          Without such integration then is the society truly multicultural ?. Some people might describe the influx of Polish or other east European nationals as the creation of ‘multiculturalism’ ….but a majority white christian nation accepting people from another majority white christian nation is difficult for me to describe as multicultural.

          Not everyone in the UK is afraid of muslims, and not all of those who lack fear are leftists, or fools.

The question these Islamophobic journalists need to reflect upon is; are these so called ”radical” views that they criticize endorsed only by these few individuals being invited around the globe, or does the common Muslims believe in them. If the common Muslims believe in these values that means that more or less all Muslims are radical and that Islam is a radical religion. Since this is not the case, as Islam is a peaceful religion and so are the masses of common Muslims, these Shaykhs cannot be radical. [A really nice bit of circular reasoning — gc] Rather it is Islamophobia from the ignorant western media who is more concerned about making money by alienating Islam by presenting Muslims in this way. Islam Net, an organization in Norway, invited 9 speakers to Peace Conference Scandinavia 2013. These speakers would most likely be labelled as ”extremists” if the media were to write about the conference.

          But how come this conference was the largest Islamic Scandinavian International event that has taken place in Norway with about 4000 people attending? Were the majority of those who attended in opposition to what the speakers were preaching? If so, how come they paid to enter? Let’s forget about that for a moment, let’s imagine that we don’t really knew what all these people thought about for example segregation of men and women, or stoning to death of those who commit adultery. The Chairman of Islam Net, Fahad Ullah Qureshi asked the audience, and the answer was clear. The attendees were common Sunni Muslims. They did not consider themselves as radicals or extremists. They believed that segregation was the right thing to do, both men and women agreed upon this. They even supported stoning or whatever punishment Islam or prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) commanded for adultery or any other crime. They even believed that these practises should be implemented around the world. Now what does that tell us? Either all Muslims and Islam is radical, or the media is Islamophobic and racist in their presentation of Islam. Islam is not radical, nor is Muslims in general radical. That means that the media is the reason for the hatred against Muslims, which is spreading among the non-Muslims in western countries….

          So there you have it. If you do not you consider:
          1. making non-muslims pay a tax and submit to second class status.
          2. tossing gays off building or
          3. stoning to death women accused of rape or adultery
          4. beheading of non-muslims who resist converting or submitting to second class status.
          5. segregation and no education for women
          .

          RADICAL then I guess you are OK with islamification.

    Assimilation where the person joining a new country adopts the customs of that country is fine. My maternal grandfather was from Syria. I would declare it an article of faith that the black and Hispanic dropout rate is only due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out-of-bounds.

    We can make the United States a “Hispanic Quebec” without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently, “The apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved, not by tolerance, but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentrically, and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.” I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with a salad bowl metaphor. It is important to insure that we have various cultural sub-groups living in America reinforcing their differences, rather than Americans emphasizing their similarities.

    Having done all this, I would make our fastest-growing demographic group the least educated – I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50 percent dropout rate from school.

    I would then get the big foundations and big business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of victimology. I would get all minorities to think their lack of success was all the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.

    I would establish dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would “celebrate diversity.” “Diversity” is a wonderfully seductive word. It stresses differences rather than commonalities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other – that is, when they are not killing each other. A “diverse,” peaceful or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together, and we can take advantage of this myopia. Look at the ancient Greeks. Dorf’s “World History” tells us: “The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshiped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic Games in honor of Zeus, and all Greeks venerated the shrine of Apollo at Delphi. A common enemy, Persia, threatened their liberty. Yet, all of these bonds together were not strong enough to overcome two factors … (local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions …)” If we can put the emphasis on the “pluribus,” instead of the “unum,” we can balkanize America as surely as Kosovo.

    Then I would place all these subjects off-limits – make it taboo to talk about. I would find a word similar to “heretic” in the 16th century – that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like “racist”, “xenophobe” halt argument and conversation. Having made America a bilingual-bicultural country, having established multiculturalism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of “victimology,” I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra – “because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good.” I would make every individual immigrant sympatric and ignore the cumulative impact.

    Lastly, I would censor Victor Davis Hanson’s book “Mexifornia” – this book is dangerous; it exposes my plan to destroy America. So please, please – if you feel that America deserves to be destroyed – please, please – don’t buy this book!     So take your multiculturalism and stuff it where the sun don’t shine. We are on to your tricks!

      I merely applied logic to the term multiculturalism and you get upset ? Do all grammatical corrections piss you off ?

      What I note in the quoted material , is that it is probably all true….but with the proviso that the people of different cultures all live under an oppressive authoritarian government, or at least a government powered by powerful interests in the form of elected representatives.

      You see, I am starting to think that elected representatives, in ‘pick-a-puppet’ governments , like the US, like the UK, are flawed to begin with. They can never satisfactorily represent the wishes of the people , so when you have different cultures in a society and when it comes to the government representatives courting those cultures for votes through targeted appeals the end results will be lies, envy and broken promises….in short, all the things which already cause short term politics to fail the electorate, only more so.

      A democracy is supposed to be somewhere where the people have direct input on policy matters. Anything else is a nanny state, people-quieting and ignorant system

      The people will do what the government tells them – the government just makes sure they present the right faces to the people to keep the people electing those faces in a state of pointless hope that they will be involved in a process which allows them to change the way things are

      If people were instead able to vote directly on policies, through a process of referendum cycles (like in Switzerland) , then you could possibly get direct input by people on policies which represent the cares of the people ‘of the time’. In a multicultural system nobody could ever feel a need to be envious of another group which appeared to be getting a better deal from the government.

      Of all of the studies I have seen about multiculturalism, those which say it is good and those which say it is bad, all assume there is an overarching political structure which provides a framework for discussion, but the material structure of the framework is constructed from people within the government – the electorate are assumed to be powerless.

      Either the narratives in those reports need to change, or the way we govern ourselves needs to change.

    As always, thank you Gail. I totally agree that we are on a path leading directly to the loss of every value we have traditionally cherished. I believe God helps those who help themselves. I own a gun.
