The experts at the DC based US Drought Monitor believe that Nebraska is having a drought.
I drove across Nebraska today, and the state is flooded. If the water comes up two more feet, parts of I-80 will be underwater.
They are forecast to get three more inches of rain this week.
This next pictures were taken at ground zero of the Nebraska drought.
The really amazing thing is that the DC based US Drought Monitor, is actually published by the University of Nebraska.
Looks like Texas is going to wash away. Betcha the Drought Monitor still shows drought next week.
So the larger question, of course, is how much of the drought map is inaccurate…and how much is completely wrong?
They show western Colo. to be in exceptional to sever drought, but we are 1″ above average for precipitation for the year and it is still raining. One inch above normal is a lot when your average for the year is only 7 inches.
Thanks for pictures of the “drought”. Do you suppose the elevated flux of “cosmic rays” traversing the atmosphere induce nucleation of water vapor into droplets of water along ion tracks?
Hopefully, E. M. Smith’s report on the historical impact of real climate changes on civilizations will convince DOE and NASA scientists that they endanger the lives of their own friends and relatives when they lie about solar and nuclear energy.

If that map was showing where it rained last week I’d believe it. Where they have drought listed in the Dakotas and Minnesota is where we just got 2″ of rain last week.
As I remember, the dry-spell in Texas was not merely a “drought”. It was a “permadrought.”

I hope the Alarmists turn their attention to New England, and start calling our drought a “permadrought”. It seems that as soon as Alarmists make a prediction, it is a sure-fire way to get the opposite to occur, and my garden could use the rain.
Yes, it is drier than normal here, too. But all of next week: rain. And I scheduled erecting scaffolding on a house I am supposed to repair and paint! No work next week!

Any lie is not too big because nobody (but sceptics) question them.
Here in Minnesota, the ponds and swamps are as full of water as I have ever seen them. I cannot use the riding lawn mower in the far back yard because the ground is too soft with moisture. A new building sits unfinished because the ground is too wet to bring in the needed equipment.
I do recognize that many farmers would welcome more rain since they have their crops planted, but to call this a moderate drought is ridiculous.

In Michigan we have had plenty of rain and the grass is quite green. It was too wet to till the ground last week, yesterday finally got the garden in.
The drought here in eastern North Dakota looks much like the Nebraska drought
The US Drought Monitor is a fraud, much like the NASA temperature record. Both are based on government “adjustments” to the actual data. The unadjusted Palmer Drought Severity Index shows all of Nebraska at normal or unusually moist, which actually tracks reality.
Come on now, everyone knows the “N” on the Huskers’ helmets means “‘Nowledge.”
Expect a few more Midwest quakes this Summer due to all the rainfall. no?
Silly, it is a ‘wet drought’, a common occurrence in this climate changing world.
