One of the major science frauds being perpetrated by the White House, is that the climate is becoming more variable. Tom Karl reported the exact opposite in the 1995 IPCC report

    A late Eemian aridity pulse in central Europe during the last glacial inception
    ABSTRACT
    Investigating the processes that led to the end of the last interglacial period is relevant for understanding how our ongoing interglacial will end, which has been a matter of much debate (see, for example, refs 1, 2). A recent ice core from Greenland demonstrates climate cooling from 122,000 years ago driven by orbitally controlled insolation, with glacial inception at 118,000 years ago. Here we present an annually resolved, layer-counted record of varve thickness, quartz grain size and pollen assemblages from a maar lake in the Eifel (Germany), which documents a late Eemian aridity pulse lasting 468 years with dust storms, aridity, bushfire and a decline of thermophilous trees at the time of glacial inception. We interpret the decrease in both precipitation and temperature as an indication of a close link of this extreme climate event to a sudden southward shift of the position of the North Atlantic drift, the ocean current that brings warm surface waters to the northern European region. The late Eemian aridity pulse occurred at a 65° N July insolation of 416 W m-2, close to today’s value of 428 W m-2 , and may therefore be relevant for the interpretation of present-day climate variability.

    In charts of the past half million years or so, what really stands out is the stability of the Holocene. We have been blessed with a very steady climate. That is why the CAGW nonsense is so very idiotic.

    The switch from the Wisconsin Ice Age to the Holocene occured within three years. D-O events have temperature swings of 8 to 10C within a few decades or even years. Wild weather with droughts, high winds and dust storms are what characterize cold weather climate.

    Richard B. Alley of the U.Penn. chaired the National Research Council on Abrupt Climate Change. From the opening paragraph in the executive summary:

    Recent scientific evidence shows that major and widespread climate changes have occurred with startling speed. For example, roughly half the north Atlantic warming since the last ice age was achieved in only a decade, and it was accompanied by significant climatic changes across most of the globe. Similar events, including local warmings as large as 16°C, occurred repeatedly during the slide into and climb out of the last ice age….

    So the earth’s climate can change very rapidly and Dr Alley even admits the Holocene is cooling.

    ….In particular, Porter (2001) reports an increased mineral dust concentration in the Northwestern Pacific during glacial inception, which supports our approach. Our model does not account for the radiative effect of dust (Claquin et al. 2003)….

    In our model, glacial inception is triggered by a decrease in boreal summer insolation. Once a critical threshold is crossed, the snow-albedo feedback pushes the system from a interglacial to a glacial state (Calov et al. 2005).

    According to some the only thing keeping us out of glacial inception is CO2. Amazing how this very critical debate is no where in the news and instead we get “Global Warming”

    (The the climatic ‘madhouse’ occurs whether or not the Holocene is typical like MIS19 or goes long like MIS 11 which extended over two insolation peaks. It is the period between peaks near glacial inception that causes the climatic ‘madhouse’

I have also come to the conclusion that the difference between confidence and arrogance is competence.     Rapid changes in sea level and associated destabilization of climate at the turbulent close of the last interglacial maximum appear to be recorded directly in the geomorphology, stratigraphy, and sedimentary structures of carbonate platform islands in the Bahamas. Considered together, the observations presented here suggest a rapid rise, short crest, and rapid fall of sea level at the close of 5e.

    “The lesson from the last interglacial “greenhouse” in the Bahamas is that the closing of that interval brought sea-level changes that were rapid and extreme. This has prompted the remark that between the greenhouse and the icehouse lies a climatic “madhouse”!

      More pressure. Once you start fudging the data in return for $$$ and other get Billions as a result you are looking at RICO.

      Al Gore, Maurice Strong and Obummer with the Chicago Carbon Exchange plus Dr. Happer’s statement that he was fired to promote CAGW and thus the Chicago Carbon Exchange could be considered crimminal.     The problem is that they declare drought by variance from the average. We almost NEVER have an “average” year, at least not in California. We have either a wet year or a dry year and often have several of each strung together end to end. With our weather, it almost seems that the probability of having a dry year is higher if the previous year was also dry, and same with wet, until you get 3 or more years into that string. After 3 years, the opposite sort of year becomes more probable. Having 5 dry or 5 wet years strung end to end is a statistical oddity in recent times though that hasn’t always been so. The last 500 years have been pretty wet here compared to the previous 9500 or so years.

      Mid coast NSW, running about normal for this mouth.

      Canberra is getting very cold nights, mins are down 1.8C for this month so far temps of -5C etc brrrrr ! , but days are +1.5C on the average.

      Hobart, mins down about 0.5C, maxs up 0.2C
