Ummmm….. for the first 6000 or so years of the Holocene the Arctic had only winter perennial sea ice. That is, the was NO ICE during most of the year !!
(this is confirmed by bio-markers from sediments in Fram Straight)..

When such ALARMIST statements are published in the mass media; the premise is in fact a two edge sword that cuts both ways. Taking a theory, an unproven hypothesis “on that scale”,, then advising:”loop-it is an existencial turning point in your life” – should carry a responsibility.
