It appears that somebody we all know received a very special Birthday present today…

Happy Birthday Tony, all the best to you and yours!

Congratulations, Tony. You have joined an important and powerful demographics. The movers and shakers pay close attention to us and follow what we do:

Where The Over-60 Population Live On The Isle of Wight

We came across some data last week and we’ve extracted something you may find interesting.

To the best of my knowledge a research was never conducted to find out where the 59 to 60-year-olds live on The Isle of Wight. But once you hit 60 people care. The parish of Nettlestone and Seaview is ahead of all others!

Even The Economist wonders why businesses don’t try to sell us more stuff:

    Marketing to the old
    Over 60 and overlooked
Everyone knows the world is ageing. So why is business doing so little about it?

    And last but not least:

What Is The Best Workout For People Over 60?

Remember not to “bounce” or stretch too far, as this will only aggravate the muscles. Some good stretches are: triceps stretch, seated floor twist, toe touch, standing biceps stretch, and the spinal stretch.

I don’t want them trying to sell me anything! They can KMA! If I want it and can afford it, I’ll shop and buy it. The last thing I want is my phone ringing and some ditz that won’t shut the hell up trying to sell me a home security system or some “special” vacation package deal, or some special deal at a gym. I have done my best not to give out my phone number just for that reason. Nothing like cruising in tight traffic concentrating on your job only to have some kid calling you to try to sell you something you don’t want or need.

It is beautiful outside but I was hoping for end of snow as I kept pushing it around all day and running out of space to put it.

  5. RAH says:

    A belated Happy Birthday Tony.
You got snow to play in, I got thunderstorms that woke me up in the truck and miserable Chicago traffic and construction that turned a 4 1/2 hour trip into a 6 hour trip, and the progressive on the east coast got nice hot weather. Somehow I think I got the worst end of the deal today. But that’s all right. I’m home with a jack & coke in hand before I hit the sack.

BTW my pooch enjoys the towel time after a walk in snow or wet weather as much as she likes the walk.

Hey. isn’t it meant to be well into spring over there? ;-)

BTW I have had a rose breasted Grosbeak and it’s song tells me it’s doing just fine.

So as you guys dig out I’m sitting here listening to the frogs and toads and the birds singing after a nice little thunderstorm passed over. It’s 70 F but feels warmer because of the humidity.

Before it rained I had time to take my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter over to see Holly the pony across the street. For the first time she fed that gentle Pony, unafraid to hold her hand out with a piece of carrot or apple in it for the pony to take. That is something I’ve been trying to get her to do since last summer. Another little triumph. So yesterdays hell on wheels for me has been balanced by a wonderful today. She’s just gone down for her nap right now so G-pa has a break before it is time to go grill some 90% lean Angus hamburgers for dinner.

I seem to remember snow in Denver and near Monument on or about Memorial Day in 1965. There was snow on Labor Day that year also, in the foothills west of Denver.
