Unlike the US, Sweden’s approach to COVID-19 is based on actual science. They never shut down their primary schools, and are now opening their high schools and colleges.

This shutdown and social distancing is the modern so called epidemiologist wet dream. The fools though they could control the spread of the virus using these methods, yet they were to slow and stupid to even have a chance. Don’t think for a minute this idiots learned a thing!
What they appear to learn is to just try something else. It seems to me like “highly educated” vandalism.
But… whatever the end result, they will of course say their measures saved it from being a lot worse
“yet they were to slow and stupid”
“Don’t think for a minute this idiots learned a thing!”
When calling people fools, slow, and stupid, it might be prudent to spell your three letter words properly, and use a plural demonstrative adjective for plural nouns.
These idiot [me] know one things- “we’re all bozos on this bus” [Firesign Theater]
Attacking typos is the only means for some folks to feel superior to others…
I make typos all the time, my toothy friend. It is only when someone arrogantly accuses others of stupidity while mangling the english language that it becomes comic. You do know the difference between typos and mangling, don’t you? (Have Snoopy explain it to you.)
You manage to be a joke, or a clown, with your every post, GS.
Do try to produce some actual rational content, if that is actually within your ability.
Great! So you admit you are nothing more than a mouthy hypocrite. Not news to me.
Please keep showing your insecurity, it suits you.
““we’re all bozos on this bus” ”
You certainly seem to be a bozo, and DUMB as a rock, to boot.
Did you inherit these traits, or is it just part of being a rabid leftist ?
Baited a gator, and hooked a pike. Man, you people are too easy.
So by going after Mark, you somehow think that you baited me? LOL
You are as full of yourself, as you are sh!t.
LOL, GS, the village IDIOT !
You just admitted your only purpose here is to troll.
Its all you have to offer.
Intelligent comment.. you have NONE. !
Looks like I have you both on the line now. Relax, this is hook and release water.
Yawn , You really are pathetic
Get a life other than as a mindless troll.
So much space in your empty head in which to roam… and self delude…
While you two were busy tilting at windmills, I did contribute to this thread. Why don’t you simply scroll down three posts.
Do you two think Sweden is a fine example of ‘actual science’, as Tony stated? I’ll be waiting with ‘baited’ breath.
Neither of you have contributed anything substantive to this thread. I would like to know what your ideas are regarding the ‘actual science’ of Sweden’s approach to Covid-19.
My opinion was posted days ago. Try to keep up.
Yours truly,
a joke
a clown
a mouthy hypocrite
a bozo
DUMB as a rock
rabid leftist
full of sh!t
village IDIOT
pathetic
and a mindless troll
PS I agree with both of you. (Especially the troll part.)
As an intelligent person, I have been waiting for more data, before I foolishly claim to know what has happened. I prefer to lead with data, and not my mouth.
Man I love renting space in your head! It is soooo cheap. Better be careful Gary, or you will be accused of being a cranial slum lord.
In South Africa the national government wants the schools re-opened, while the teacher unions (who have had two months paid vacation) don’t! Only the Southern Cape province (not run by the ANC) says that ITS schools are ready, no matter what the other provinces do.
The president made a speech, saying that the 2 month lockdown was informed by ‘science’. The previous day, the science advisory council said that they had recommended that the lockdown should be ended after the original three weeks, because it wasn’t working. The government ignored them.
Sweden had to stay open. They could not count on any economic help from outside the country. For those who rule in Sweden it was the only way to stay in power.
“Unlike the US, Sweden’s approach to COVID-19 is based on actual science.” -Tony
Well, that must be some fairly poor science.
“With cases having crossed the 30,000 mark, Sweden’s death toll in the pandemic has reached 3,831, more than three times the combined total of Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland, all nations with similar welfare systems and demographics.”
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-sweden-strategy/swedish-antibody-study-shows-long-road-to-immunity-as-covid-19-toll-mounts-idUSKBN22W2YC
“Sweden’s per capita death rate was 36 per 100,000, which is higher than the United States at 27 and neighboring Denmark at 9.”

As for herd immunity…
“According to data compiled by the Sweden’s Public Health Agency, as of May 20, only 7.3% of blood samples collected from people in Stockholm had antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Depending on how infectious it is, at least 70% to 90% of a population needs to be immune to a virus to reach herd immunity.”

And economic repercussions…
“Economists at Swedish bank SEB estimate Sweden’s GDP will drop 6.5 per cent this year, about the same as the US and Germany, but a little better than Norway and ahead of 9–10 per cent falls in Finland and Denmark, all of which have had lockdowns. A Reuters poll from April found economists predicting the Scandinavian economies would all fare about the same in 2020.”
