Virtue Signaling Doesn’t Keep People Warm

This week in 1923, New York was experiencing extreme cold and used a record 195 million cubic feet of natural gas.

In that same issue they reported a “radical change in climatic conditions, and hitherto unheard of temperatures” in the Eastern Arctic.

“Many old landmarks are so changed as to be unrecognizable. Where formerly great masses of Ice were found. there are now often moraines. accumulations Of earth and stones. At many points where glaciers formerly extended far into the sea they have entirely disappeared.”

“formerly the waters about Spitsbergen held an even Summer temperature up to 3 degrees Celsius: this year recorded temperatures up to 15 degrees, and last Winter the ocean did not freeze I over even on the north coast of Spitsbergen.”

This map from the Washington Times showed the lack of ice.

But last year there was ice surrounding much of Spitzbergen even during summer.

The Chicago Tribune reported the same thing in 1923.

The Arctic ocean Is growing much warmer, at least in certain parts. This has been confirmed by numerous scientific expeditions this winter. Spitzbergen is now free from all ice, and the permanent ice fields of the Greenland a have retreated 2.500 miles north of  Norway.

The gulf stream, a warm current of water which rises in the Gulf of Mexico and flows northeast across the Atlantic ocean to Europe. is hotter now than usual. Its heat is attributed to the excess of solar radiation which fell, on the earth in 1920, 1921, and 1922.

There is no evidence of a climate crisis or that CO2 controls the climate, but people in Texas froze to death this week because they couldn’t get natural gas. The cold in Texas this month was not particularly unusual. Similar or colder temperatures occurred in 2011, 1996, 1989, 1982, 1948, 1933 and 1905.

People didn’t used to freeze to death in Texas because they had an adequate supply of fossil fuel power. But over the past decade Texas government wasted their efforts and money on wind power and failed to take care of their fossil fuels infrastructure. This was largely due to incompetent forecasting and fearmongering by Texas climate academics.

Their forecasts failed, the wind turbines froze, and people did too.

One week earlier, climate alarmists were bragging about the success of wind power in Texas, and said it proved the Green New Deal would work.

But Bill Gates says that wind power works fine in cold weather in places like North Dakota. He also says that we have to eliminate all fossil fuels, and that Syrian drought is caused by fossil fuels.

The cold, hard truth about ice on turbine blades

Bill Gates is neither a scientist nor and engineer, yet claims that wind turbines work fine in cold climates, and that Texas should have been able to rely on wind. But this isn’t true. Green energy failed in Wyoming and Colorado for the same reasons it did in Texas – lack of wind, ice and snow. Colorado is shutting down their coal fired power plants, which were the only thing keeping the power on last week when wind and solar failed.

PRPA: Cold snap accentuates importance of energy networks – Loveland Reporter-Herald

I took these pictures on February 15 at -10F (-24C) at the coal fired Rawhide Generating Station in Northern Colorado, which is PRPA’s primary source of power. They plan to shut it down this decade.  The solar panel were recently built, destroyed huge amounts of prairie and wildlife habitat, and were non functional in the cold and snow.

Shutting down coal in Colorado is a strategy for disaster, and the key is at the bottom of the article.

“The solution to situations such as this past weekend and what could occur in future years as PRPA and other utilities shut down coal-fired plants will be tapping into larger networks.”

Colorado is shutting down their reliable supply of fossil fuels, and banking on other states like Wyoming being more responsible and bailing Colorado out in an emergency. That is very risky and dangerous strategy and will likely end in disaster sooner rather than later.

Ten years ago, wind farms in Scotland failed in record cold due to a lack of wind, which typifies conditions under cold Arctic air in the mid-latitudes.

Bill Gates says drought in Syria is caused by people in Texas trying to keep from freezing to death. But Syria has always had droughts. In 1933, experts blamed the droughts on YoYos, which is no more ridiculous than Bill Gates superstitions.

The real problem in Syria is that US dependence on Middle East oil gives the Military Industrial Complex an excuse to keep bombing them. I have been pointing this out for years.

And it only took five weeks for the Biden administration to prove me correct.

Other countries have figured out that green energy is a disaster, and are reversing course.

Bill Gates pretends to be an expert on a great many topics. Because he has lots of money he is able to buy huge amounts of influence and air time, and never allows his ideas to be challenged in public. He holds monologues, not debates. This corruption threatens the health and well being of hundreds of millions of Americans.

  1. Donna says:

It seems like we should not be trying to go exclusively all green energy sources to support cities, states, or even whole countries. There is a lot of information here. I’m not a scientist; but, I learned a long time ago when I was in junior high back in the early to mid 1960s that climate is cyclical, just like weather.

  2. Robert Rust says:

The Earth has 3 climate zones, determined exclusively by the tilt of the Earth’s axis. When the climate changes, we’ll know the Earth’s axis tilt changed from its current behaviour that’s been going on for the last 100’s of millions of years. Because of the Earth’s immense inertia, the Earth’s tilt can only change over 100’s of millions to billions of years, unless a moon-size or greater object hits it, in which case nothing will be alive on Earth to have to worry about the resulting climate change. Any “climate change” occurring on the planet today and for the next 100’s of millions to billions of years remains as local/regional weather change, nothing more. Increased volcanos going off constantly or a mile wide meteorite could temporarily change the world climate for a few years, but those are not climate changes, those are short term natural disasters, the world climate and local and regional weather soon returns to normal, though it might take a number of years.

Ice core data, e.g. Vostok and Epica in Antarctica, records local temperature at the testing site, as the science method being used clearly and unbiasedly states. To assume the data records world temperature is to conclude that the thermometer out the kitchen window records world temperature; only a politician does this, not a scientist. That so-called scientists are doing this means that these “scientists” are in actuality politicians pushing an agenda, an ungrounded belief.

CO2 does not drive temperature, just as temperature does not drive CO2. The atmospheric CH4 and CO2, Vostok/Epica local temp, ocean water isotope percentage, and world ocean level graphs are all virtually identical, they are all symptoms of an underlying cause, an underlying, huge driving force, a huge Earthly phenomena. They reflect a force as big as the surface of the planet regularly, periodically, and unevenly affecting local and regional temperatures and certain atmospheric conditions (CO2, CH4, and sea floor precipitates blown as dust) of the planet.

We see what is occurring. The ocean levels are shown fluctuating up and down, causing matching, proportionally-equal, huge changes in the vegetated land surface of the Earth. I.e., the continental shelf is regularly, periodically being exposed and then swamped, thusly directly cycling planet-wide vegetation growth and then its destruction, resulting in matching large changes in CO2 and CH4 in the world atmosphere. With shelf exposure, vegetation expansion/growth pulls CO2 out of the atmosphere while rotting vegetation (CH4) falls, and with shelf flooding, vegetation shrinkage and rotting increases CO2 and CH4 in the atmosphere. These three graphs naturally follow each other.

Geology knows that continent-sized ice cap change, i.e, polar icecap change, is behind the fluctuating ocean levels, that’s how they measure ocean level changes, by the ocean H2O isotope changes created by land-based, melting and growing polar ice caps. The proxy isotope science clearly states this. Cycling, huge change (430 feet up and down) in ocean level means equally dramatic, enormous, cycling change in polar icecaps. The only way enormous polar icecaps can change dramatically, losing their full mass and then regrowing, without the Earth’s tilt changing, i.e, without the world climate changing, is that the crust of the Earth must be shifting periodically, moving the continents that the icecaps are sitting on in and out of the atmospheric polar zones. The zones are determined by the tilt of the Earth, and this tilt can only change over 100’s of millions of year, not regularly and periodically over tens of thousands of years as the graphs show that the CO2, CH4, regional temps, ocean levels, ocean isotopes, and aeolian sea floor precipitate are doing. The shifting crust causes local temperatures recorded in the Vostok/Epica ice to change in the same fashion as the other data graphs, the shifting crust changing the Vostok/Epcica region’s placement relative to the South Pole.

Modern geology is locked in its agenda of global warming/climate change nonsense and, thereby, misreading ice core and ocean isotope data to force it to fit political geology’s beliefs, not realizing that the crust is moving regularly and periodically, causing the world and regional changes seen in the graphs, the continents shifting into different climate zones, the climate zones remaining unchanging. because the Earth’s tilt is unchanging.

Most humans trip over a stick, curse their bad luck, hurl the stick into the bush, and keep on walking as if nothing happened. The astute human throws the tv out instead and starts seriously critically examining modern geology to find the truth, not the program it pushes.
