    Currently, meteorologists stand about a 50% chance of accurately forecasting the weather for the next 24 hrs. They can easily fail to get the high and/or low temperature right and often miss by a few degrees. As each additional day is added to the forecast, the chance of accuracy drops below 50% and hits single digits about a week out.

    Yet, for some reason, people believe that forecasts for years and decades out can be accurate and accurate, with respect to temperature, by 1 to 2 degrees. It boggles the mind.
