“For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled.”
– Richard P. Feynman

I wonder what the slogan will be when we run out of diesel fuel by the end of the month?
Now is a good time to make a list of the essentials you will need for the winter months. Walmart, Kroger, here we come……..
Probably every engineering student in the US got to watch that film when their dynamics class turned to the discussion of resonance.
The East is watching the West self-destruct with all their leaders cutting coal and oil energy, even nuclear! — “Here’s a knife, while you’re at it why don’t you cut your own throats and save us the trouble?” — And the people sit here watching helplessly as their lights go out and their fuel disappears — and our leaders celebrate their “victory.”
Talk about an Orwellian world!
We were shown this Tacoma Narrows bridge failure video very early in my introductory engineering courses in 1974/1975. It left a lasting impression. Thanks for including it here, as it appropriately illustrates the danger of collapse of our electricity systems and fuel supplies. The decision makers have neglected the full range of factors to be considered in design.
