Kutney’s comment is so ‘denialist’. “Not interested in blogs … no peer review … then not interested in wasting my time”
Peer review is a crumbling mess, and he talks about it like it is as precious as the Gutenberg Bible.
I think it is called the philosophy of the ostrich. With his head buried in the sand, is it any wonder he talks through his a$$?
As it turns out the easiest way to get climate alarmists to back peddle I to ask for raw data. Every time it is some combination of bad, missing or corrupt
Another example is: Mann’s refusal to provide data & other “research” materials wrecked his defamation lawsuit against Mark Steyn / National Review. Mann had to provide the materials as part of the “discovery process”.
Kutney hides behind peer review, so he doesn’t have to open his eyes and acknowledge real and very disillusioning data, which could cause him to lose his balance and fall off that wall of denial, on which he is precariously sitting. Humpty Dumpty will fall. Just a matter of time.
You’re right; he’s scared to death to be on his own, so he leans on the peer review and authority. By himself he would crumble.
Subverting the Peer-Review Process poses no ethical problem to the AGW fraudsters :
“I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin [Trenberth] and I will keep them out somehow, even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!”
—Phil Jones, Director of the Climatic Research Unit, disclosed Climategate e-mail, July 8, 2004.

Mann is just doing very Mann things to hide Mann made climate change.
“Either you die like a hero or you live long enough to make people realise that you are a parasite”
quote from a comic movie about flying mamals threatened by AGW iirc
( And Mann passed the expiration date of a hero decades ago)
Indisputable proof yet again, that climate ‘scientists’ are anything but scientists.
