The Power Of Wind

According to Scientific American, wind speeds are getting both slower and faster due to a one part per ten thousand increase in atmospheric CO2 over the past century.

“Wind speeds are getting faster worldwide, and that’s good news for renewable energy production”

“in most of the U.S. wind speeds appear to be waning, in many locations by more than 1 percent a year.”

Slower and faster at the same time. Wetter and drier at the same time. Alarming.

    • arn says:

And more and less snow at the same time.

Seems global warming and ice age have completely neutralized each other.

      • No, by some convoluted reasoning we have the worst effects of both simultaneously. It’s the climate science equivalent of doublethink.

        • arn says:

Doublethink is nothing compared to Doublescience – the power of having to contradictory theories and changing between them back and forth whenever one is useful for propaganda.

And a little bit more Doublethink from the most corrupt country oligarch country in Europe that has shut down all opposing parties and media and is introducing its US masters totalitarian digital control and snitch app DiAA(without DiiA Ukraine wouldn’t have gotten all the Billions)

“Ukraine will be setting the democratic example… for the whole world ”

          • Greg in NZ says:

Arn, ‘Doublescience’ – I like that.

Add a little Doublethink and you get

            Doubleplusgoodsciencethink®

It causes every fink & cures every fink

  2. roaddog says:

Citizens of Wyoming are lobbying for lower wind speeds. That much is certain.

  3. arn says:

Funny coincidence that the wind decided to reverse from slowing down to speeding up to make windfarms even more acceptable.

I’m pretty sure that the former dimming planet and aerosols and Ehrlichs blue cloud are no longer something negative for solar panels – neither are chemtrails.

  4. GWS says:

I want to see the science that proves CO2 is driving Earth’s climate. Thus far we just get songs and dances and consensus poles, all of which evaporate when exposed to skeptical analysis. Yet, billions are spent and laws created in response to this global threat that so called experts say we are suffering under right now. — Show me the hard facts!

    • The First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics show that it cannot. We are dealing with imbeciles who do not know the difference between power and energy, and I don’t just mean the politicians.

  5. Laurie says:

Not merely evidence, rather proof they do not know what they are talking about, and that fact does not prevent them from spreading disinformation. The intent, beyond superficial insatiety – no greed – is to give the lies ‘from on high’ effect.

  6. Steve Cooksey says:

I’m so confused. I better buy an electric car and a gasoline powered one. Why take a chance?

  7. Bob G says:

in my opinion it started getting windier when Obama was first running for president. 😁. and the Biden years have been very windy! treasonous too. and I’m not talking about the oath keepers. you know who those guys are don’t you? they’re the guys that walked from president Trump’s January 6th speech to the Capitol building unarmed and on the way there they stopped at a food truck because who wants to overthrow a country on an empty stomach. 😁

  8. conrad ziefle says:

Probably a cyclic thing, a poorly run study, bad math, among other things. It’s highly doubtful that Earth’s winds are actually increasing.

  9. conrad ziefle says:

Anything to build monstrous landscape filling, low density energy collecting devices, when a little fossil fuel generator would do it more reliably. We are CO2 deficient compared to most of biological history.

  10. Walter says:

Amazing how the winds are increasing all of a sudden to help drive the green agenda. How convenient.

  11. Ulric Lyons says:

I have seen data for faster surface wind speeds over the oceans and slower over the continents since 1995, which would be associated with the warm phase of the AMO. And the AMO is normally warmer during a centennial solar minimum.
