Reuters says China should rely on wind and solar instead of coal.
“China’s new coal plants set to become a costly second fiddle to renewables.
China’s plans for some 100 new coal-fired power plants to back up wind and solar capacity have sparked warnings that the world’s second-biggest economy is likely to end up lumbered with even more loss-making power assets.”

Mockingbird media.
“It doesn’t make sense to give more incentives for more coal-fired power investments.”
The only incentive that counts in the energy markets is the demand for real-time dispatchable reliable electricity, especially in industrial production. “Progressive” governments might be able to con the citizenry into accepting the hardships and suffering that are part and parcel of intermittent energy availability, but vital industries will not be conned. They will either relocate to a non-woke country, or simply shut down production altogether.
Your last 4 words sum up the real goal of going green.
Bingo.
“What a fool believes…”
Only a fool believes China will retire brand new coal powered plants.
Only Western governments do such stupid things.
How stupid does someone have to be to believe that the coal plants aren’t first chair? This is a gullible, childish point of view.
For the answer see Greta Thunberg and associates who DRIVE to a HIGHWAY and GLUE themselves to the ASPHALT while using their PLASTIC CELL PHONES and wear CLOTHES made possible due to …OIL/COAL!!!
