Understanding How To Commit Fraud As A Government Climate Scientist

Government climate scientists typically start their graphs in 1979 – the year of peak Arctic sea ice, which was up two million km² from 1974.

1979 was the coldest year on record in the eastern Arctic. By cherry picking 1979, they turn a long term cooling trend into a sharp warming trend.

1979 was also the coldest winter on record in the US

Scientists use 1979 satellite launches as an excuse, but there was plenty of other data available.

Do as I say, not as I do. They pick cherries, but woe be to anyone who does the same.

    • Yep, the assertion by rabid Progressives and the “Ruling Class” is total shit..

Cherrypicking 1979, ignoring past Climate, ignoring past weather events, ignoring their failed predictions over 100+ years, weather becomes climate and climate becomes weather when its convenient…

Fact is the Al Gore’s of the World dictate the debate, so there is none… name calling towards anyone who disagree’s.. ridicule, mockery.. Saul Alinsky tactic.. ostracize anyone who disagree’s, don’t get published, don’t get that Tenured Professor Job..

We’ve got a long ways to go folks, to get the truth out, to get the message out.. High School and College kids are being brainwashed with .0004 mole CO2..

  2. ilma630 says:

If there is an approximately 30-year cycle in the climate system (amongst the many different length cycles), data from 1979 or even 1974 to the present hasn’t even got half way through a 2nd cycle, so they’re essentially trying to make claims/assertions/predictions from 1 data point. It can’t be done and is a nonsense. For governments to then enact regulation and demand taxes based on this 1 data point is nothing less than fraudulent.

  3. Didn’t the morons in ’79 say ‘melt the arctic’ due to globaloneycooling ? Imagine if the quackitists had won that argument…..hard to believe that anyone believes a trace chemical causes greenhouse processes or weather…..jesus h. christ.

  4. bleakhouses says:

What’s the likelihood of the ’79 anomaly being due to first year bugs in the system?
How can ’79 even be validated and thus how can it be used as a meaningful measure?

    • mjc says:

The thing is…1979 IS NOT the actual beginning of the record. The satellite that was used for the data from 1979, onward was launched and went operational in 1978! (I think it goes back to March?) And there were several satellites that had nearly daily coverage earlier in the 70s than that. Also the start date wasn’t actually settled on in 1979…but a couple of years later.

      So, yes, 1979 is a cherry-picked peak.

      • mjc says:

Checked again…I’ve got complete months for Oct, Nov and Dec of 1978 downloaded. So it may only 4th quarter ’79, onward for that particular satellite.

Consensus science was a tool of totalitarian governments before WWII. It emerged after WWII as an indication of the real winner of WWII, as George Orwell predicted in a book he started to write in 1946 – Nineteen Eighty-Four.

Thanks to 2009 Climategate emails and the incredible official responses, we now know Stalin was victorious from WWII because of unreported CHAOS and FEAR of nuclear annihilation in Aug-Sept 1945 [1]

The UN was formed in Oct 1945 to take totalitarian control of science and society worldwide [2]

The primary goal was to save the world and it’s leaders from nuclear annihilation by forbidding public knowledge of the source of energy that destroyed Hiroshima [3].

I think consensus science has been a tool of governments for much longer than that. Astronomy is the oldest of the sciences and Galileo, Copernicus, Kepler and others ran up against consensus science. Saying that it was religious based is just stating a distinction without a difference.

Even before that, though I know of no record of it, I would bet that the Pharaohs took a very dim view of any apostate that challenged their views of the structure of the Universe.

In fact any society who’s structure depends on a belief system would have had reason to reject evidence that would challenge the status quo no matter how well supported by observations.

When George Orwell started writing “Nineteen Eighty-Four” in 1946, he apparently knew that Stalin had emerged victorious from WWII.

I suspect he received that information from another British writer of science fiction, Fred Hoyle. Pages 153-154 of Hoyle’s autobiography documents abrupt changes in the very foundations of astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology in 1946 – changes that were adopted without or debate.

Fred Hoyle, Home Is Where The Wind Blows: Chapters from a Cosmologist’s Life (University Science Books; First edition, April 1, 1994), 443 pp. Pages 153-154 describe sudden, inexplicable changes in “consensus science” on the Sun’s internal composition in 1946. http://www.amazon.com/Home-Where-Wind-Blows-Cosmologists/dp/093570227X

Harry Hopkins, FDR’s closest advisor was a big fan of the Soviet Union, may have even has connections there. He helped engineer unbridled appeasement of the Soviet Union, including the give away of eastern Europe to the Soviets. With absolutely nothing given back in return.

      • omanuel says:

Thanks, Andy, it was once fashionable to be sympathic toward communism.

I was that way myself, until I realized it was led by totalitarian egomaniacs.

The real problem is that egomaniacs rise to the top of most organizations.

This is VERY interesting. I tried and tried in vain to get older data out of NSIDC. As usual, AGW believers have it well buried. Please provide a link. Thanks.

And still unanswered is the fact that there has been no significant warming for 16 years, maybe more. Warming has left the room to make way for Elephantidae of the order Proboscidea either Loxodonta africana or Elephas maximus. –

The elephants and the donkeys have both deceived the public.

That is why neither party answered my question to the Congressional Space Science & Technology Committee last year [See ref 2 above, “Misinformation became . . .”]

“Scientists use 1979 satellite launches as an excuse, but there was plenty of other data available.”

Such as Nimbus satellite data from 1965 – http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/Nimbus/nimbus2.php

They boast about 40 years of data gathering but still cherry-pick 1979 as the start point – kinda destroys the significance of the 40th anniversary !
