As far as I can tell, no serious hurricane climatologist believes that Sandy has anything to do with global warming. McKitten couldn’t care less about the facts. he has an agenda.
Hurricane Sandy: Global warming fuels a perfect Frankenstorm
Sandy, the hurricane that appears set to pummel the East Coast, promises a historic potential for damage and a terrifying look at what may be in store for us in a post-climate change world ā ever more frequent assaults of not-so-natural origin.
Hurricane Sandy: Global warming fuels a perfect Frankenstorm
Can’t he wait a day or two to see what happens and if something bad happens, gibber on about it then? He seems convinced that the devastation has already occurred.
That isn’t how he works. He feeds off speculative hype.
I don’t get what his problem is. If a tree blows down and kills a family somewhere, given the fact that there is over population, they were burning fossil fuels, they were unhappy anyway (compared to the ’50’s and their disconnect with nature & community) and weren’t eating local organic produce, isn’t this then not so bad?
When were we ever in a “pre-climate change” world?
This is an abbreviation for the “pre-anthropogenic climate change world before the human virus infected the balance of nature.”
McKibben is a charlatan of the first order. He never lets facts get in the way of his global warming scare story. Sadly, he commands an audience of gullible fools and eco-loons who take him seriously.
The notion that human-induced CO2 (a life-giving plant nutrient) is changing the earth’s climate is pure buncombe, a theory that lacks any scientific foundation. But it appeals to the uneducated and uninformed.
So true.
We had drivel on TV here a few days ago trying to blame global warming/CC for killing oysters. The very fact the Charlatans didn’t mention was that commercial oysters beds have been devasted in some parts of the World by a virus. Of course they tried to blame it on ‘evil’ man and CO2 and conveniently forgot about the oyster virus!
One more comment: Obviously, most of the scientists promoting the global warming scare are not uneducated or uninformed. But they either work for the government or are dependent on government grants for their livelihood. They have a vested in interest in keeping the global warming bogeyman alive. So they are predisposed to manipulating data and engaging in questionable tactics that will attract more research dollars and industry recogntion. There are many scientists who know the AGW theory is unsubstianted balderdash, but they are afraid to speak out publicly for fear of losing their jobs or being ostracized by their colleagues.
Himmicane McKibben: Global whining fuels a perfect Franken-funding
McKibben, the himmicane that appears set to pummel the twitterverse, promises an historic potential for dollars and a terrifying look at what may be in store for the non-funded in a post-truth world ā ever more frequent assaults of not-so-natural hyperbole.
I feel sorry for the guy..By the sounds of it he spends every waking moment of his existence worrying about the imminent apocalypse.
In Vermont this fall we had our first deaths ever from Eastern equine encephalitis, a mosquito-borne disease that the experts had predicted would come with a warming climate. They were right, and now when you go out to weed the garden, the dusk carries with it a slight whiff of apprehension it never did before.
Holy crap, you can’t even mow the lawn these days without the grim reaper breathing down your neck!
I suspect he would be joyful if his apocalypse came to pass. He could say to the world, “you were all wrong, only me and my followers knew the true path.”
Search for McKibben with YouTube and his videos on composting are prominently featured – he is at least very good at recycling old garbage. š
The first cases of Eastern equine encephalitis recorded in the United States were reported in Massachusetts in 1938. Over the past 75 years it has traveled all the way to Vermont.
Trenberth is going there. So much for the first paragraph
Most of the reader comments are laughable. They’ve completely bought into the myth linking human CO2 to more severe and frequent weather anomalies. They’ve drunk the Kool-Aid, and no facts, no matter how convincing, will change their minds.
Several spoke very highly of Mayor Bloomberg, a dyed-in-the-wool fascist whose anti-capitalist leanings and contempt for personal liberty are well established. That, in itself, is very revealing.
