   Anyone who worked on the Gladiator can reasonably assert that they “contributed” to the best picture of the year. But they can’t say they won or shared in the Best Picture award. Only the prioducers are credited with the award.

   From Wikipedia:

   During the annual Academy Awards ceremony, Best Picture is reserved as the final award presented and is usually collected at the podium by the film’s producers and director. However, only the producers are officially credited with receiving the award.

   Michael Mann is a charlatan and a meglomaniac. He should have been fired long ago for scientific malfeasance. Shockingly, his actions are still defended by an inner circle of fellow warmists who have joined forces to protect their faltering reputations and defend their lucrative, but now collapsing, “man is heating the earth” scare story. They should all be arrested and charged with criminal fraud.

     If you look more closely I think you will see that Mann is only defended by his own small circle scientifically*, and even there the support is rather lukewarm. What they present in the media and what happening in the real world are usually rather different things.

     *I’m not counting psychologists or economists.

   But the Pulitzer still goes to Ross Gelbspan for his 2005 paperback book’s spin explanation for folks who supposedly said he was not a “co-recipient” of a Pulitzer http://books.google.com/books?id=NLzgunts0aAC&q=pulitzer

   Mikey Mann was sodomizing science at Penn State at virtually the same time that Sandusky was sodomizing young boys at the same instituion. So we have every bit as much a right to proclaim Mann both a sex and science pervert as he does t0 proclaim himself a Nobel Prize winner.
