Muhammad’s first wife was a very wealthy older woman who owned property and was also a successful business person. Of course the religion he created allowed his wife to continue bringing home the bacon (so to speak) and allowed her to have a say in politics so as to protect their golden goose. But how many husbands was a woman allowed to have under Islam? Muhammad was an opportunist, and this is why the Koran has conflicting verses written during his short lifetime.
