What facts might those be?
Mandatory health insurance, like mandatory car insurance. If you can’t show the cop proof of health insurance, they take away your birth certificate.
We have mandatory universal health care in Canada and as you can see we are not bankrupt BUT 1) the US essentially pays our real national defence tab, 2) the system is essentially rationed (there are too few doctors, few have a family doctor, appointments take weeks, and mostly we have to sit and wait in walk in clinics), and 3) there is NO INNOVATION in our system (treatments are ancient and advances are on the backs of those from societies like the US).
All modern socialized states with universal healthcare suffer the same fate as us and eventually have to go down the path of cost containment for the system users who use the most resources, the old and terminally diseased, and that mean euthanasia, first on demand, and then by the state (read about the Holland situation)
The US can’t afford healthcare for all at the level of care that those with coverage get now and that means that when it becomes universal the level of care WILL GO DOWN. (see Europe and Canada for your future)
Your system has inequities and disadvantages some but surely that’s better than disadvantaging everyone! Or are Democrats like Thatcher said about UK socialists, that they don’t care if the poor get richer, so long as the rich get poorer?
