Met Office Is “very sure about the underlying science”

Typical English Garden after global warming

‘The Met Office are saying that despite the recent concerns about the science, they are very sure about the underlying science. ‘They tell us there is a 50-50 chance we will get a 2C rise. If we pull our finger out we could prevent us moving beyond 2C but we have to act pretty soon‘.

A 2C rise could mean summers in the UK reaching 38C – a climate similar to southern France.

That kind of temperature rise would see the traditional summer deep borders full of herbaceous perennials such as lupins and delphiniums replaced with Mediterranean plans.

Do pay attention, we’re now going to cool because the Gulf Stream’s going to be disrupted!

  2. mikegeo says:

Gee they predict a 50:50 chance the temperature will rise. They have a $100 M computer for this and all they really needed apparently was to flip a coin. They also admitted this year in Parliament that their temperature trend has no statistical significance. In other words, it is inside the bounds of natural variation. There is no human contribution in other words. They’re hoping no one noticed – and naturally the MSM looked the other way.

With all that new foliage to be transplanted, Brits could use a few 10s of millions of our “South of the Border” gardeners. Love to see a large chunk of them move to England. Go diversity.

  4. Fast Eddie says:

A 50-50 chance equates to ignorance which suggests that Al-Jazeera Gore was at the meeting.

  5. Johnbuk says:

Wow, with that nice uninterrupted view across to the Mediterranean I’m glad I’ve got the conservatory. “Nottinghamshire by the sea” has quite an expensive ring about it. It’s better than I thought.

    • Adam Gallon says:

Dang, if you’re by the sea, I’m under it in Lincolnshire, well as soon as it’s risen by 60 or so feet, where I am!

      • johnbuk says:

Adam, you can bring your beach hut up to my back garden – you’ll be warm and cosy there, but if you swim mind the underwater wind turbines there I don’t want my air conditioning to fail!

  6. Sparks says:

Where will the extra energy come from for an extra 2C rise in temperatures?

  7. Bob Tisdale says:

But if you pull my finger……

  8. Latitude says:

    they really are this stupid…
The UK has always had a climate exactly like the south of France…

if you throw darts it’s a 1 in 62 chance to hit something lol oops 63 there is a wall behind it

  11. Rosco says:

How many summer days hit 36 C in the UK ????

Not too many apparently if you look at the stats.
