Some data on education, religiosity, ideology, and science comprehension
identifying with the Tea Party correlates positively(r = 0.05, p = 0.05) with scores on the science comprehension measure:
I’ve got to confess, though, I found this result surprising. As I pushed the button to run the analysis on my computer, I fully expected I’d be shown a modest negative correlation between identifying with the Tea Party and science comprehension.
But then again, I don’t know a single person who identifies with the Tea Party. All my impressions come from watching cable tv — & I don’t watch Fox News very often — and reading the “paper” (New York Times daily, plus a variety of politics-focused internet sites like Huffington Post & Politico).
I’m a little embarrassed, but mainly I’m just glad that I no longer hold this particular mistaken view.

weel, galhhhhhh leeeeee
The sample size is interesting.
If these results show up in the MSM then I’ll eat my straw hat.
Your hat is safe.
His stomach, too. If it happens I will eat his hat.
Within in minutes of this post, Rush is talking about it. Steven has someones ear.
Reblogged this on The Firewall.
Drudge has the link. That’s as close as it will get to MSM coverage.
Some of us “Tea Party” people are astronomers, astrophysicists and scientists. I’m rather surprised that people fall for the bull crap the media feeds the public. Oh, and without fail, NONE of us are “racists”. Those that appear to be are plants. (Not the kind with chlorophyll, but rather the surreptitiously planted type).
And some are engineers
The Tea Party members, or the racists who crash the gatherings?
Tea Party members
JUST engineers. (LOL: Big Bang Theory Reference :))
OK, this is where the “climate skeptics know more about science than believers” story came from. Last May…

Same guy, same study. A$$hat lives in his cocoon and only knows the lies and bigotry spoon fed to him by the MSM.
As do the majority of Americans.
“I don’t know a single person who identifies with the Tea Party”
Sounds like 1968 when New York intellectuals (Pauline Kael, as I recall) said, “No one I know voted for Nixon. How did he get elected?!”
The snob brain is cocooned, as with Crest’s “Invisible Protective Shield”, from the real world.
Tea Party members have the audacity to think a little for themselves. Not just gulp down the
Kool Aid fed to them by the LSM.
The ‘Tea Party’ is not a party, but a movement. I consider myself part of this movement, and yet am a staunch Libertarian. I spent my university years as a geology and climatology student, and yet work in the financial industry. Maybe leftists are two dimensional, I am not.
Ben Franklin’s generation and today’s progeny are obviously much smarter than delusional, wishful thinking “progressive” speech makers, today.
I hate it when they talk about the “Tea Party” as if it is a party. It isn’t. It is a movement based on the Boston Tea Party where the people were damned mad that a lame duck Congress voted for Obamacare in the middle of the night with a Congress of which 80 members had already been voted out of office. It is a movement of holding electedofficials, officials of ANY party, responsible for their vote. It is about holding their feet to the fire and throwing out elected officials that vote against the wishes of their constituents. It scares the hell out of establishment politicians on both sides of the aisle and is the reason for the attack propaganda. The notion that the people would suddenly get all uppity and demand their legislators actually listen to them is scary for them. The tea party movement is really not based on either political party. It is about the people being fed up and starting to throw politicians out of office.
