2002 : UK faces ‘global warming disaster’
This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Bookmark the permalink.
The people must give up their cars, but the ruling class can get their blueberries air-shipped from Sount America.
Yup; sounds perfectly fair to me.
Global warming for Chicago too:
…..one of the Midwest’s most dangerous storms in 70 years.
http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2010/10/25/warning-high-winds-ahead/
Unprecedented! ;o)
70 years ago was worse. But still, what’s happening now is unprecedented. It’s global warming. Never has like it is now. See how bad global warming is? 70 years ago was a better earth.
But if we ‘act now’ we can get the worse floods of 70 years ago back.
So eat organic and use twisty straw light bulbs. Do your part to bring back worse floods.
What wasn’t included in your cherry pick;
“The study into rising seas and increased rainfall concludes five million people and most of the country’s best farmland are at risk,”
“And parts of the UK suffered flash floods last week which submerged homes in Inverness, Glasgow and the East Midlands.”
“Half the properties are in the London region of the Thames – affecting 750,000 people in the capital and putting in jeopardy the city’s financial future. ”
“UK scientists say weather records show prolonged spells of heavy winter rain are becoming more frequent.
Yorkshire has been particularly badly hit, and the River Ouse reached its highest level since records began in November 2000. “
The River Ouse reached its highest level since Nov 2000? And, pray, when was the article written?- Sep 2002.
So because one river is at its highest in 22 months proves we are heading for global warming disaster?
So because one river is at its highest in 22 months proves we are heading for global warming disaster?
Hmm. I’ve scanned this whole page for your comment on Amino’s post that should look like this:
So because there’s a bad storm in Chicago proves that global warming isn’t happening?
I’m sure it’s here somewhere, and I’m just not seeing it.
I am not sure what you are on about, Chris.
Lazarus pointed out that the article used the example of River Ouse levels to illustrate how much rain we were getting.
I simply showed that the records only went back 22 months.
Should look like what? Not sure what you’re telling us.
And most of the rest of the report is ifs + maybes.
If you were running a company and some researcher suggested you spend huge amounts of money because “something might happen” I think you might ask for a tiny bit more proof first.
Still you can always give up your car if you want.
And most of the rest of the report is ifs + maybes. If you were running a company and some researcher suggested you spend huge amounts of money because “something might happen” …
Your hypothetical business owner better not buy any insurance, then. Isn’t that all about spending huge amounts of money on ifs + maybes + things that “might happen”?
Not lots of money ,Chris.

That’s how it is Paul—if acorns keep falling that means disasters. So let’s get Washington to do something about those acorns falling out of trees. I’m sure higher taxes will solve the problem. And if you don’t agree then that’s okay, it’s a personal choice, no pressure.
We know Lazurus, floods have never happened before. These are the first floods ever. So that’s proof global warming is happening.
;o)

And they were not even right in their forecast.
Winter rainfall data for Heathrow ( Dec – Feb) shows only a marginal increase from 144mm for 1948-1997 to 149mm for 1998-2010.
Yep these are the best posts. I don’t see the usual response here yet, you mean because one guy told the press that floods would happen you are holding the whole theory of AGW accountable? There I posted it so others won’t have to… heh
