CO2 : Officially A God!

It has created a new species of Jellyfish, which both “does not sting” and has a “painful sting.”

It is amazing how any new scientific discovery can be twisted by the press into some bizarre non sequitur about global warming.

    ALERT!!! ALERT!!

Will the village who owns Benjamin Peim please stop by and retrieve your idiot.

  2. Paul H says:

According to the article, there has been much migration of “new” species through the Suez Canal since it was opened.

The scientists blame the recent influx on higher temperatures, but how do the jellyfish in the Red Sea know it is warmer on the other side of the canal? Have they been listening to Al Gore?

Actually the article may be nearer to the truth when it quotes intensive fishing as a factor.

  3. James says:

I’m with you on the press twisting stuff to make them global warming-related, but this is rubbish.

It’s clear, if you take a minute to read the article, that the last paragraph is talking about jellyfish in general, and not this specific species.

Not hating, but it seems like a lot of people rush to conclusions in order to try to make the ‘other side’ look bad, but in fact just make themselves look foolish. Please, people – if you want climate skepticism to be taken seriously, don’t adopt the knee-jerk twitch reactions from the people you’re arguing against.

    • So you think that the discovery of a new kind of jellyfish has something to do with global warming?

      Well alrighty then.

      • Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

I guess if you fish out all the predators like Large Sunfish the occasional crab, spadefish, or loggerhead turtle you will get more jelly fish, it’s not climate change, it’s called overfishing

  4. James says:

That’s not I’m saying at all. People who lack the ability to read, not only this article but also my post, are not helping climate skeptics (of whom i am one!) at all…

Read my post again. Read the article again. All I am saying is that nowhere does the article infer that the jellyfish can sting even though they can’t sting. The first sentence of the last paragraph, talking about “their toxic and painful sting” is quite clearly talking about jellyfish in general, not this new species.

All I am saying is, don’t jump to conclusions without reading something properly, even if it is a minor point, in order to make the pro-climate change people look stupid. Instead of a pissing contest over this sort of thing, just stick to the actual science! Don’t go down to their level!

    • Please ……

The article was poorly written and was based on an illogical premise. Of course I am going to make fun of it.

      • James says:

But you’re specifically making fun of the part of the article that is written in plainly correct English. Poke fun at the premise all you want, but not correct English!

And we want climate skeptics to be taken seriously… 🙁

  5. Lazarus says:

Where does it say that Co2, global warming or whatever has created a jelly fish?

This is the most bizarre and ignorant post I have seen on here so far and believe me it has had some stiff competition.

You really need to think a little if you want to be taken seriously.

  6. Scarlet Pumpernickel says:

ummm the whole article. Oh yes, Global warming is caused by CO2, or do you admit that CO2 is not the control knob LOL

    • Lazarus says:

I don’t understand if you are making a point.

Where does it say in the article that Co2, global warming or whatever has created a jelly fish?

      • What does CO2 have to do with the discovery of a new jellyfish species? The author is implying that they are linked, which is obviously nonsense.

      • Lazarus says:

        No, this post is nonsense.

The article states with justification that number of invasive species has increased attributing that to the increase to rising water temperature resulting from global climate change.

You post does more than imply that Co2 ‘It has created a new species of Jellyfish’ which truly is obviously nonsense.
