GISS 2000-2009 (most recent available) shows that no place in the US has warmed since 2000, and that most of the US and Canada has cooled – by as much as 4C (7F.)
Note that they claim 0.12 global warming during the period, but this is due to the “hot” regions north of 80N – where they have little or no data.
See how disrupted the climate is? It is so messed up that it is cooling instead of warming. This obviously calls for more government grants to study it and massive taxes to prevent the climate from doing what it is doing.
See how disrupted the climate is?
I know, it looks normal. And normal is their problem. Normal is a disruption for them.
But wait. Hansen responded to the Y2K GISS temperature problems by stating that it doesn’t matter because the US is such a small fraction of the global area. So this cooling makes no difference.
But wait. Shouldn’t Hansen be consistent and state that the increase in his simulated Arctic temperatures doesn’t matter because the Arctic region is such a small fraction of the global area?
Oh silly me.
Good one!
It would stand to reason that the area from Alaska to the Central US would be cooling in the last 10 years since PDO shifted to cool in 1999, and there has been weakening El Nino’s and strengthening La Nina’s in the last decade.
You do realize the last 10 years of data showing no warming is “cherry picking” don’t you? You do realize that using data from such a small fraction of the globe is “cherry picking” don’t you?
Now if the last few months showed warming and the area involved was a better indicator of AGW, say something like the size of Moscow, you’d have robust science on your hands….
lol!
The Russian heat:

The area is smaller than the area of cooling in the US/Canada. Also, the Russian heat was very short lived. Albeit, I’m sure it was miserable for the Russians in it.
Russian heatwave and floods in Pakistan never happened before? Yes, it has. 132 years ago:

Fires on Earth normal, and cyclical. Russia was a small event (an acorn falling) in comparison:

Smokey the Bear thinks we’re going to stop those? Sshya!
Am I interpreting the GISS map correctly – are all the white areas representing no temperature change?
