Richard Leakey : The End Is Near

Optimistic Pessimist: Fossil hunter Richard Leakey believes the end of the world is near — yet he’s hopeful.

He seems to be joining ranks with Ehrlich and Holdren, but from looking at his picture, I’m guessing that the global food supply hasn’t collapsed quite yet.

Another source of wild predictions, leakey stating we are losing 30,000 species per year similar to statements by the WWF some 20 years ago. There were only 1.5 million 20 years ago and about half would be gone by now according to their failed predictions.

My recollection is that 150 mammals have gone extinct since 1500 and 50 were found to still exist when further investigated.

When I was in marketing the concept was those that exagerated got the headlines.

Just the title “Progressive” puts this in Romm’s corner. The “One World Order”, Eugenics and any other regressive movement you want to discuss. Just think of the opposite meaning of any words coming from this group.

  3. Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

Why of course the end is near. Look at Arctic ice! ;^)

  4. ! Shame on you for showing such a racist Time magazine cover – “How Man Became Man” – it implies that Ehrlich-related overpopulated “climate-vulnerable” countries in Africa would be better off if they were more civilized ! 🙂
