Update On John Holdren’s Ice Free Winter

John Holdren holds the highest position of scientific authority in the country. He was hand chosen by President Obama. He also appears to have less scientific competence than most first graders.

...if you lose the summer sea ice, there are phenomena that could lead you not so very long thereafter to lose the winter sea ice as well. And if you lose that sea ice year round, it’s going to mean drastic climatic change all over the hemisphere.  – John Holdren, 2009

Temperatures are well below freezing across the Arctic now, and about -20C near Greenland. they will continue to get colder for the next few months. New ice is forming at the rate of one Manhattan every minute and a half, in areas that were previously ice free.

The North Pole has gone completely dark. There is no SW radiation to warm things up. Temperatures are too cold to hold much water vapour, so there is almost no greenhouse effect. It is butt cold in the Arctic, and only a scientific illiterate would think otherwise.

When President Obama lifts restrictions on funding for human embryonic stem cell research today, he will also issue a presidential memorandum aimed at insulating scientific decisions across the federal government from political influence, officials said yesterday.

Does Obama ever tell the truth about anything?

Science and politics, what creepy bedfellows.

if anyone cares to “google” the illustrious John Holdren, the record shows that he has been at the “we need world government because of manmade climate distruption” game for decades– which they also tie directly to the advocacy of eugenics (“culling the herd of humans”)– Obama has put people like Holdren in place, with a curious lack of consent or oversight of OUR government representatives (Congress) thus far, based purely on the recommendation of Obama’s longtime handlers: Ayers, Alinsky, et.al.

…. and potential lethal for the masses.

    Hi Steven,
Quick note: Holdren said comment in 2009, not 2010. Also, can I have an email address for you?
    Thanks
    Marc

    • Marc,

      I sent you an e-mail.

Comments were made as an “update” on climate and referring to the 2009 remarks. Incidentally, are you suggesting that in 2009, the ice packs were still melting in winter as alleged by Mr. Holder? Did you not see the embarrassing emails showing all the tom-foolery that went into recent climate science in the UK regarding removed data gathering centers and actual re-weighting of data to “prove” untrue points? I’m still waiting for the new ice age we were warned bout in the 1980s by the same scientific community and based on the same data collection. Is that what the 2010 data is finally proving? Perhaps we need to forestall it by driving lager cars and allowing animals to have gas as they see fit.

Yes. He said under his cap & trade system, my electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.

I wonder what that ‘phenomena’ could be.

“Although sea ice and snow cover had noticeably declined in the Arctic from 2000 to 2004, there had been no detectable change in the albedo measured at the top of the atmosphere: the proportion of light the Arctic reflected hadn’t changed. In other words, the ice albedo feedback that most climate models predict will ultimately amplify global warming apparently hadn’t yet kicked in.”

“According to the MODIS observations, cloud fraction had increased at a rate of 0.65 percent per year between 2000 and 2004. If the trend continues, it will amount to a relative increase of about 6.5 percent per decade. At least during this short time period, says Kato, increased cloudiness in the Arctic appears to have offset the expected decline in albedo from melting sea ice and snow.”
    NASA

    or this

“The predicted substantial decrease in Arctic summer sea ice concentrations during the twenty-first century may favor cloud formation, which should diminish or even cancel the ice-albedo feedback by shielding the surface.”
    …………………
“Water droplets are more effective in reflecting and absorbing solar radiation than nonspherical, typically larger ice crystals (Dong et al. 2001).”

      Jimbo:
According to the “BEST” research from Climatologists. If we lose ice cover during the winter months in the polar regions it will allow more sunlight to warm the ocean in those regions that do not receive sunlight now during their winter months. Ice covering the ocean is the only thing that keeps the sun from shinning in those areas at that time. I read that from a AGW promoter. (Or something similar)
      😉

  8. Marilynn says:

I hope all who read this and similar web sites are talking about the truth to their well-meaning but ignorant friends, family and neighbors who believe in AGW. Even die-hard warming disciples start to see the light when you give them a few irrefutable facts, enough to get them to start questioning the AGW theory.

The AGW scammers claim that this is the most serious problem our planet has ever faced. They may be right, but not in the way they claim!

Say what you like about Holdren, he’s managed to parley a line of bullsh*t into a pretty good wage packet!

  11. netdr says:

John Holdren co authored a book [Ecoscience] which discussed :

    Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
    • The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation’s drinking water or in food;
    • Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
    • People who “contribute to social deterioration” (i.e. undesirables) “can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility” — in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
    • A transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.

Impossible, you say? That must be an exaggeration or a hoax. No one in their right mind would say such things.

Google “John Holdren book” and see for yourself. The book costs $100 in paperback so I have gotten my library to order it for me.

I prefer to read for myself so I don’t rely on his detractors or supporters.

If anyone has a copy I would appreciate a quote or two.

Not that new either – the English Whigs during the early 19th century did the same – then it was the hijacking of geology for political purposes that was the issue du jour.

  15. Lawrie Ayres says:

At what stage should we expect our representatives to face up to the fact that they have been well and truly hoodwinked? Why are politicians the last to realise the rest of the constituency are wide awake and getting very angry. Putting up power bills will not make them less angry.

    • Tom says:

Politicians are not the last to know the truth, they know it from the beginning. The problem is, they don’t represent their constituents, they represent the people that pay to get them elected. As long as people put up millions of dollars to get candidates elected with glossy ads and TV spots, and their constituents refuse to do any real research into what the candidate really believes, we will always elect politicians that represent only those that pay their election bills. And the people with the real money don’t want us “useless eaters” cluttering up their landscape.

Holdren is no ignorant nor is Obama. They are Marxists and as all Marxists and elitists do, they believe we peons are blithely ignorant and that they can mouth whatwever idiocy and lies they choose and we will swallow it whole. This whole global warming scam presupposes an ill informed ignorant public. The real question is: are they, the Marxists and AGW propounders right?

  18. Tom says:

The global warming scam isn’t based on assumed ignorance, it’s based on the concept that if the media will control the arguments, then even the most intelligent will fall for the scam. Granted, here in the US, we can unfortunately say ignorance plays into it. For too many years we listened to news commentators and trusted them to be telling the truth. My first eye opener was listening to the commentary on a Reagan speech, most of which didn’t make any sense to me based on what I had heard, nor when I read the unabridged speech in the paper the next day. But you don’t see that any more. You will see snippets of any speech and commentary, not the speech itself now.

We have believed what the newscasters tell us for the better part of the last 30 years, and most of it was slanted towards the world governance viewpoint. The internet has had a great impact on those that use it, but it can’t change the minds of people that watch TV and believe it.

But BIG money controls the media as well as the politicians. If you have to spend $700 million to get elected to a job that pays $250G a year, something is wrong, not only with the candidate that gets that support from the rich, but for the idiots that believe that the very same candidate doesn’t belong lock, stock, and barrel to the big money that got him elected.

    • Don Simpson says:

Big money is only part of the problem, the real problem is that the vast majority of the public stays silent when they hear lies. The global warming scam had more holes than swiss cheese from day one. Unfortunately very few spoke up to point out these holes as a result politicians have very little recourse but to go along. Politicians simple reflect the will of the electorate, and that means all of the electorate. When youa re elected you have to talk to those who have emense knowledge and those who have none. You have to represent all points of view. As a result the agressive global warming campaign designed to silence any and every critique was quite effective. If you truly care about the truth, speak up, when a politician comes to your door tell him what you think.

When their are letters to the editor and a political movement opposing something it becomes possible for politicians to do the same.

A good start is to now ask your local politicians to get rid of Idling bylaws which have become so popular in municipalities.

  19. ssquared says:

Of course Holdren has no idea what he is talking about.
He works for the Bamster who announced today he did not realize (for 20 months) that there is no such thing as “shovel ready jobs”!
You have to be an idiot to work for a man who is THAT STUPID.

One thing might help the Bamster…put the United States Constittution on is teleprompter, then he might read it even if he does not understand it.

  22. John R. Doner says:

What we have throughout science in this present era is whoredom. It is a shame that even the most trusted professions have been corrupted by federal money. Our universities would rather eat from the pig trough of federal money than actually support and respect academic objectivity. And short of drying up the funds, nothing would ever break them of the habit.

  23. Leigh says:

Its a threesome. Politics, Science and the Mainstream Media. No Doubt we can blame everything on the Politicians we elect. Mainstream Media appear to only cover stories which give support for the need for Politicians to introduce Climate tax and Policies.
Media makes stories about the rising tide in Tuvalu but not about the evidence that the island is actually growing. Media makes stories showing Polar Bears swimming in the sea. As if to say to those who dispute the AGW claims that if the endearing images of the Polar bear is drowns its all your fault. But you won’t see them making stories about Glaciers actually growing around the world. Everytime they make a story about places in the world which are experiencing colder than usual temperatures they always include an interview with a so called scientist who tells us that this is a result of Global Warming (whatever).
Mainstream media like Politicians don’t represent the people they are but Puppets to their big financial backers.
