Executing schoolchildren is just the tip of the iceberg. The Guardian reports that Italy wants to cut down a small patch of forest (69 acres) where sex slaves have been forced to work as prostitutes. WWF predictably jumped in with their support of trees over human life, freedom and dignity.
in a statement three environmental groups, including the WWF, said that the scheme would destroy 28 hectares (69 acres) of woodland vital to local ecosystems, saying the only crime of the thousands of trees on the local authorities’ hit list had been to “offer with their fronds shelter and intimacy to sex slaves”.
The authorities, they added, had “not even taken into account mitigating circumstances”. “Among these are having absorbed thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide and given man precious oxygen,” they said. They also prevented fertiliser and pesticides from reaching the river.
A census this month by an NGO found almost 600 prostitutes at work on the Bonifica del Tronto. Most were Nigerians, but they included Romanians, Brazilians, Albanians and Chinese.
God will have the final say.
I remember as a child reading Grimm’s fairy tales, ” The little prostitute in the forest”.
No seriously, on the one hand, “offer with their fronds shelter and intimacy to sex slaves”.
is WAYYYY over the top.
On the other hand, perhaps slavey is a crime best addressed by law enforcement,
rather than a logging crew.
I wonder what that idiot Holdren would say about the position of those humane WWF creatures … save the trees, screw the humans?
Why doesn’t the WWF just recommend killing off all the local sex slaves? Wouldn’t that kind of recommendation be right up their alley?

I read the Guardian story. It says nothing about sex slaves, it only mentions prostitutes (so presumably prostitutes working of their own free will). Ironically, it is only the environmental groups that mention “sex slaves” in their statement.
I think we should wait until we find out whether these women are being forced or not. If it is forced then it is insane to value trees above freeing these women. If they are prostitutes voluntarily, the trees should be left alone, not because of what WWF says but because voluntary prostitution should not even be a crime.

Yes As I said, it was only the environmental organizations that mentioned sex slavery. The Guardian article otherwise mentions only prostitution without any indication it is anything but voluntary.
But since the WWF et al. statement calls them sex slaves, presumably they’d favor the trees even if the women were slaves. That is indeed sick.
I am totally on your side in the climate fight. I have long enjoyed your posts at WUWT and I’m glad you now have your own website which I visit every day. But we still need to get things right.
This article is about the WWF.
Almost all of the foreign prostitutes are sexual slaves
How can WWF team up with Coke? I mean Coke releases thousands of tonnes of CO2 when people open drinks don’t they?

Obviously a bit slow here but are you saying that the best way the local authorities can deal with the problem of prostitution is to lay waste to 69 acres of woodland?
Wouldn’t it be better to catch the people breaking any laws, rather than making them go somewhere else to break them?
Did you read the Guardian article?
Just read the article. It’s nice to know that the WWF is busy looking out for the rights of guileless and essentially well-intentioned trees. LOL
The most disquieting thing about this is that the Guardian writer seems to be quoting their inanities with approval.
Perhaps it’s just that Pod People all tend to think alike.
Many years ago, walking through Hyde Park one evening I was approached by a lady who said”wanna friend for the night sonny, fifteen shillins or ten shillins up aginst a tree” so even in those days trees played their part.
Astonishing what you can find to underline unsanitary frolicking. This link is deadly serious.
