Hottest Year Ever : Last Winter Was The Coldest In Three Decades In The UK

Officially, 2009-10 was the coldest winter (Dec, Jan & Feb) in Scotland since 1963. December and January were the coldest since 1914 , but we had a milder temperatures after Feb 10th, which brought the monthly average up. In 1963 (and 1947) the severe winter conditions continued into March-April. This year has started early but there’s a long way to go yet. It could be like 1981-82 which was very cold in December but turned milder in mid January. See http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/mar/02/british-winter-coldest-30-years for more details (no mention of global warming/climate change/climate disruption!) and http://outdoors.caledonianmercury.com/2010/12/01/experts-views-on-how-hard-winter-will-be/001364 .
