I have twenty-years-olds telling me how bad things were during the Reagan administration, I suppose this is the same.
Here is the problem with their graph…
“Mean maximum and minimum temperature stations were selected from the U.S. Historical Climatology Network (USHCN).”
This past July was hot in the Southern Plains, but the 1930’s heat and drought were far more widespread, far worse in the Midwest and Northern Plains. There has only been about 3% reduction of this year’s corn crop compared to 50% loss in the 1930’s and even 20-30% reductions during a couple drought years in the 1980’s.
