Learning To Distinguish Warm Snow From Cold Snow

During the 1970s and early 1980s, there was a period of heavy snow which was caused by cold.

This was followed by 20 years of little snow, which was caused by global warming.

Over the past decade there has been lots of snow, which was also caused by global warming.

You might ask “How do you tell the difference between global warming snow and global cooling snow?

That is easy. During the 1970s, funding depended on creating concern about global cooling. Now it depends on creating concern about global warming.

But July snowcover is down! Lack of snow in July portends the end of the world!

I’ve been in Maryland since 1979 so I’ve seen both the warm snow and the cold snow. Funny thing is that heavy snows are the results of Noreasters around here and it’s not uncommon to have two or three storms come back to back. During the “cold” era, it seems we had one or two heavy snow storms followed by a heavy rain storm so the run-off from all three storms came at once causing flooding. Our warm snow season in 2010 had back to back storms but all of them were snow and the three weeks after these storms saw cold weather and slow melting so no flooding. Obviously, warm snow is better because it doesn’t melt suddenly.

I should have paid more attention in science class. I had no idea how important this stuff would become. I’m assuming Cold Snow must be the result of Cold Cold. But is Warm Snow the result of Warm Cold or Cold Warmth? Man, wish we had computers back when I was in high school.

When it snowed heavily in 2010, I had heard it was because man made global warming was causing increased precipitation, which thru me through a loop, remember? I believe I swore a lot that year!!
