Global warming means more snowstorms: scientists

Last winter, Jeff Masters told us that the lack of snow and the warm temperatures in the US were a sure sign of global warming. He famously stated – “This is not the atmosphere I grew up with”
Jeff Masters, founder of Weather Underground, the web’s go-to site for meteorological information, watched an eerie early morning outside his Michigan home and wrote, “This is not the atmosphere I grew up with,”
A huge cold blast is headed to the US this week, which will once again prove global warming, because all US weather now undeniably proves global warming.
kinda like Gilbert & Sullivan’s “Modern Major General”
Today it is 70 degrees with rain. That is far different when in 1960 when it was 70 degrees with rain. Today’s 70 degrees with rain has a human footprint all over it. If we all go green, we can again have the type of 70 degrees with rain that we all knew as kids.
He is right. The air is cleaner, and so is the water. But the intellectual climate has declined.
That’s pollution for you – push it out of one place and it just oozes out somewhere else.
It’s scary. When I was a kid we had years where we had snow on Hallow E’en, & other years when it was reasonably warm snowless until early January. Now-a-days we get exactly the same variance because of that 1978 Ford ¾-ton pickup I once owned.
I don’t know what part of Michigan Jeff Masters is from, but where I live it was 70 deg on Christmas day in the early 1980’s. I recall my mother outside washing windows.
Every generation thinks their time is unique. People like Jeff Masters don’t bother researching history, they just assume because weather is different today than when they were younger it must be “unprecedented”.
He must have grew up in a bubble!
