This Is What Global Warming Looks Like

Goulburn residents woke to snow this morning, as did people in Katoomba, Mt Blackheath, Mt Victoria and Mittagong. There have been reports of snow in the Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands, while Canberra has received 10 centimetres.

Two major roads have been closed by the snow – The Great Western Highway in both directions at Wentworth Falls, and Bell’s Line of Road at mt Tomah. Sydney Ferries has cancelled the Manly service due to the weather, and trains and buses have also been affected.

Yesterday, South Australia witnessed a once-in-a-century October snowfall.

  1. Is it, could be a random weather event, results of cloud seeding, do you have evidence/connections this is climate change ?

its a ripper of a system coming up from the antarctic, and yeah its damn cold for this time of the year, frost yeah sometimes, but not snow!
the coronal holes output, the passing CME, etc etc
cloudseeding is NOT allowed in Aus, they tried it and got flooding elsewhere and the public went ape and that was it, so we suffer drought when they could have a go at getting rain.

I’m waiting for the ever expanding Antarctic Sea-ice to reach the bottom of the South Island in NZ. Now that would be funny. 🙂

It must be a coincidence that the southern ocean is close to its coldest since 1980.

Mid October is mid Spring in Aus.

The Flinders Ranges in South Australia are at about 31 degrees South at elevation of less than 500 metres average in the middle of a DESERT.

It snowed there in mid Spring – check out the area in Google Earth.

  9. rw says:

Wow! It doesn’t snow in Canberra! This is ridiculous. When I was there (many years ago), no one even thought about the possibility of snow.

  10. Andy OZ says:

    I’m a climate refugee.
I’ve flown up to Bali to escape the freezing cold in Australia in the middle of October for crying out loud.
30 degrees celsius and beautiful sunny days prior to the wet season starting up as normal.
