This summer has been a disaster for Arctic alarmists, but it is only going to get worse. The bulk of remaining ice is perfectly situated in the western Arctic to survive the winter and become multi-year ice.
Another cold summer like this one, and western Arctic ice will be back to what alarmists call “normal” Look for great wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Interesting update on NSIDC Steve about the Western Arctic SST’s getting cooler whilst Eastern Arctic getting warmer. That with the cooler summer means there is a large extent in that region which will thicken over winter and become multi – year ice. It will be interesting to see what happens next summer.
Of course it could be very thin, Cryosat 2 should be able to give better indications come spring on the thickness.
They are mostly the same people who fret that crime will increase and hate when it doesn’t.
