   As gun ownership has increased, Microsoft market share has decreased…. or find any two things randomly where the trend is up in one and the trend is down in the other, and imply a relationship.

   You haven’t formulated the hypothesis correctly: “Crime rates drop, even as gun ownership increases”. I’m afraid it’s re-education camp for you.

   There may be an even closer correlation to the number of states which have approved concealed carry.
