Lyons resident Howard Wachtel joked to the Associated Press news agency: “This is more like something out of the Bible. I saw one of my neighbours building an ark.”
I doubt anyone in Lyons actually spells neighbors like that.
BBC News – Thousands warned to evacuate amid Colorado floods

1st it was Boner, then Chrissy and now it’s the sewers throwing up. /sarc
“Neighbours” is how we spell it in Canada. Microsoft Word always reminds me to drop the “u”.
Maybe the BBC, or British Broadcasting Corporation, prefers the British spelling to the misguided variants employed by you half-wild rustics in the colonies. 😉
I resent that “half-wild” statement. We. Sir, are completely, precisely and categorically wild.
(By the way. I live in the US where we do NOT use the “u” in neighbor, but my computer runs Linux, an operating system which for some reason continually tries to force me to use the “u.” Murphy’s Law transcends national boundaries!)
Can you ever trust people who drive on the wrong side of the road? Or call fries ‘chips’ and chips ‘crisps’?
They don’t drive on the wrong side of the road!
They meander on the other side of the road.

I’m currently watching a History Channel program about the extreme current drought in the West and how it may be the beginning of 100 year mega drought. I kid you not.
