Congratulations! Is that a quantum leap, or a catastrophic phase transition to new order of the world???

Kudos bro’. Unreal numbers for a blog based on “just having fun.” Stay safe in the ‘drought’.

Meanwhile back in bizzarro world The Team along with coach Sexpoodle are rending garments, playing data tricks, stealing/forging documents, filing frivolous lawsuits, etc, etc all in a fruitless search of getting their chakra off.

    Congratulation Steve.
Hopefully that is eleven million more people learning that an authority figure is not always correct.

I remember WUWT’s 10 millionth hit not so long ago. They’re over 160 million now.

I keep a notepad text file with URL links to the climate and political blogs I find most balanced and informative that I copy into emails to friends, associates and family when they start sounding too liberal, watermelon or under informed conservative. That list even got my 20 something daughter to finally start to think for herself. In the Climate listings, yours has been in the top three for a few years now, so a few of those clicks might have come from me helping to spread the word.

Kudos on ya, Steve, and keep up the good fight. Just one observation, though…. there does seem to be an odd statistical anomaly with the number of climate sites run by guys with the name of Steve. ….. Just an observation….. uhhhm.

… an odd statistical anomaly with the number of climate sites run by guys with the name of Steve.

It’s more than odd. There are people at NCAR who believe it’s part of a sinister plot. They say just one Steve couldn’t possibly do so much damage to the cause. They also point to this piece of evidence:

    Steven,

Imho, if you want to be as or more popular than wuwt than you know that I would say stick to your knitting. I am seeing the reason for your increasing popularity is a sharp increase in link references to this site by commenters and bloggers at hotair and weaselzippers etc. These links always refer to your climate related posts. And on climate is where you have special capability that can’t be matched by wzippers or hotair or redstate or ace or gatewaypundit or on and on and on and on there are so many conservative political sites, and if you want to rise above the crowd you got to stick where your strength is and then you can become a top name along with wuwt, and also I saw that Alexa says that 50% of Real Science visitors are not from the US, and these folks are probably turning away sometimes when the blog seems to become a simple US political blog (in comparison, just 15% of hotair visitors are from outside the US). I would try to refrain from doing an excessive number of political (non climate related) posts. In fact I would cut them out almost completely, though I know that is not going to happen. Your credibility as a climate science reference / link will only increase if a visitor here is not deluged by posts that seem to pertain only to Republican politics. There’s a reason for that. It’s because the overt political nature of a site could give the impression that the main motivation is politics not science, and at worse, extreme politics. If people and big blogs and big news sites or stations get comfortable with the idea that this site is not an extremist or purely Republican site, but is about climate science, links and thus traffic to this site will go through the roof. And in climate science is where you can make the biggest difference as far as saving the world, lol. Those thousands of conservative political sites will make their mark and you won’t add much to that. With climate science only you can do what you do…

And another thing is at play. As you become a more visible spokesman for US skeptics, you want to start trying to include if possible independents and even Democrats among the adherents to the skeptic cause. And how do you attract these people? A lot of political posts is going to encourage the Dems and independents to flee.
Among (U.S.) conservatives the battle is now largely won. Yes, we don’t want to countenance leftist sympathizers like Chris Christie, we still must remain vigilant, but Christie is an outlier now. An article in politico today suggests that the libs are trying to find a Republican turncoat on climate change, and they are not succeeding! http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/search-is-on-for-a-gop-climate-convert-96775.html#ixzz2euqh25zv

    Plus, congratulations!

Congratulations, Steven. The more hits the merrier as you have a wicked wit and incisive historical knowledge. What’s more, your data is wrapped in truth rather than manipulation. I have been grateful for your mind and commitment ever since you decided to develop your own blog. Thanks for the excellence. As far as I am concerned you can develop you blog any way you see fit — it will always be a delight to visit.

  18. dbstealey says:

If I was not totally loyal to Anthony Watts, you would be my #1 hero, Steve. You are both playing an indispensable part in getting the scientific Truth out.

The alarmist opposition is in complete disarray. They have NO truth on their side! None. Debunked talking points are all they have, but that is not enough.

You and Anthony have scientific veracity on your side; each of you in your own inimitable ways. The climate True Believers are collapsing at your feet. It is delicious to watch.

All it takes is constantly hitting them over the head, 24/7/365, with scientific facts. They will fold like a broken flush.

So keep it up, Brother! The enemy is on the run! It will take some time, but seeing them tuck tail and run is a big part of our satisfaction. Thank you for providing that, with your historical documentation, with your scientific facts and evidence — and with the judgement of the ultimate Authority: Planet Earth herself.

There is no credible evidence against emprical [real world] EVIDENCE! Catastrophic AGW is complete nonsense, as everyone is beginning to see,

And again, thank you for never giving up!

Steve, I have followed you since day one when Mr Watts unfairly kicked you off his forum and you started this one.
You have just gone from strength to strength, your historical data mining is unsurpassed and just slays the CGAW exponents, be they so called scientists, politicians, superstars etc.
    Congratulations.
    Keep up the good work

  22. Edmonton Al says:

Just a correction to my alias. Edmonton Al not Edmonon Al.
    Thanks.
