Got an image for that one? Thx, Steve

  2. nigelf says:

Too bad his life expectancy did cap out at 42…

  3. gator69 says:

“Paul Ralph Ehrlich (born May 29, 1932) is an American biologist and educator who is the Bing Professor of Population Studies in the department of Biological Sciences at Stanford University…”

It’s a three way tie, for least credible entity.

I’ll confess – back in the late 60s, pollution and population growth seemed to be troubling issues that went together. I supported the notion of ZPG, if voluntary, to reduce impacts on “the environment”. Hey, I was a Gaucho at Santa Barbara in the Garrett Hardin days – “Fallacy of the Commons” and all that.

Looking back after 45 years, I’m thankful I studied geological sciences and learned the true range of natural variations and the overwhelming forces of natural processes. I can confidently say that the effects of human beings are trivial in the global sense, and only significant on local scales for short periods of time.

Eco-alarmism is the ultimate expression of human narcissism.

No, it’s NOT “all about you”, so get over it and just be happy to be alive!!

  5. Andy Oz says:

Ehrlich is the Milli Vanilli of ecologists. When will he return all his academic awards?

  6. darrylb says:

I am still waiting for the giant tsunami to wipe out millions when the huge chunk of Antarctic ice falls into the ocean.
Maybe we should have a list of his top 10 most absurd predictions.
Now the CO2 alarmist movement is trying to indoctrinate into the ideology through colleges and high schools. And of course in the MSM, bad news is good news and good news is no news!

Trying? They have been executing this brainwashing for over a generation already. This is how progressives managed to pass Prohibition, they have known how effective this tactic can be for over a century.

FDR said his that idea of a public school system would be one that creates a ‘compliant work force’, and Carter signed it into law.

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did Ehrlich the sphincterclown ever get ANYTHING right?

    Unfrackingbelievable.

  8. Jimbo says:

It seems the more your predictions fail the more funding from the trough you get. In the business world people would have been arrested by now. Ehrlich is a piece of SHIT.

  9. Jimbo says:

People today have never had it so good. Standards of living are up and life expectancy is up. Fertility rates around the world are falling. US co2 output is down. Ehrlich is a piece of SHIT.

  10. Joseph says:

You just cited one of my favorite books
    Of all time.

  11. Mike Mellor says:

Erratum: for “smog disasters” read “snog disasters.” Ehrlich accurately predicted deaths from the AIDS epidemic. (Another public service message from the Dept of Spin.)

Gator 69 Yeah as a retired physics, chem teacher I am (locally) the one who provides ‘the other side’
which really is quite easily done since there is very little knowledge to the contrary.
Even among most of the college crowd and more, hardly anyone understands much of anything, but they obtain their little piece of AGW action and get very upset with data, results of current studies, etc.
I feel like I am shooting an occasional arrow over circled wagons.
The sites that I have used the most (in addition to this one from which I have copied a ton of graphs etc—got to give Steve credit) are WUWT, Climate etc, Climate Audit, Climate depot,
and Roy Spencer and to keep a pulse on everything Skeptical science and real climate.
I comment the most on WUWT and Climate etc. good sites. Occasionally others. Roy has the monthly UAH updates and a little lesson now and then. Just mentioning these, because they are good sources of info which I have used
