A little intellectual honesty is a bit much to expect from a disinformation specialist. His quote was “Unless we live in harmony with nature, unless we are able to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and adopt renewable energy sources and until we change our life styles, the world will increasingly become unfit for human habitation.” Some editor jumbled up the other words and Steve is right there for the plucking for a sound bite in his disinformation campaign. How pathetic. You get paid for this? I know you don’t actually believe some of the stuff you put up.

Avery Harden is right. The journalist said that earthquakes were linked to global warming. The quote from the Dr. didn’t say anything of the kind.
So You think that Pachauri’s university speech consisted of one sentence, the one which was quoted in the article, and you can infer from that one sentence that the reporter was lying. You progs are a real piece of work.
Correction: the journalist asked ‘if uttarakhand could have been diverted,’ and also ‘ orissa, the Mumbai floods and uttarakhand – if global warming was at the epicenter of these.’ The good Dr. was noncommittal, at best. The warmer inference was there as he replied , we cannot attribute any one of them directly, but India has to be prepared for such events in the future… wake up call… etc.’ ‘Directly’ is the keyword here. I wonder what his voice inflection intonated was with that single word. Or the ‘but’ that followed.

He said more than one thing. How is it so easy for you climate de-liars to lie so easily? I can argue that his quote was “wait for me I need to go to the bathroom” and then a few minutes later, his quote was “ooooohhhhhh God, fffffpppphphphphphphp”

Please tell me why there should be any balance? Read the quote very slowly and carefully and tell me why there should be any balance? If I said there are pink flying elephants would you think it reasonable for sceptics to provide a little balance if they call me an idiot? Think hard next time.
Now let me give you some balance. Dr Rajendra K Pachauri is a former oil company executive of various Indian oil companies, he also set up a residual oil extraction technology company called Glorioil to help big oil get more oil out WHILE he was head of the IPCC. Do you want me to go on????
Never understood why they could think there is a “delicate” balance to nature and it’s repeated constantly without any evidence. They think CO2 is out of balance but it’s perfectly in balance with the population size.
During WW11, Europe was pounded for years by millions of tons of bombs and all those “delicate” atolls that were bombed into dust, thousands of giant ships loaded with fossil fuels sunk along with untold numbers of airplanes and submarines, all in the bottom of the ocean. Nature seemed to take it in stride and cleaned itself up like the Valdez spill and the BP well disaster. Dropping Atomic weapons on atolls can’t even stop the coral or the fish for repopulating. I wouldn’t call that delicate. Now if a gallon of diesel is spilled, it’s treated like it will destroy all of nature if it’s not scooped up and disposed of properly.
It’s humans that are delicate, not nature or it’s balance, which self-corrects.

Only the fact that I am writing this posting is the very proof that there is no delicate balance in nature. The words delicate and balance are in relation to nature are the brain fruits of morons.
Nature is ruthless and unstoppable.

After the deadly Indonesian tsunami, I remember seeing more than a few experts on tv saying this was “the new normal”. Rising sea levels meant that tsunamis would be as common as Al Gore’s hurricanes.

For Avery, Article and link to what he said… earthquakes out, tsunamis in. But if you’re going to claim tsunamis become more frequent then you are saying earthquakes become more frequent as they sort of go together last time looked. And since earthquakes don’t always cause tsunamis then you need a heck of a lot more earthquakes to cause a rise in tsunami frequency. Rather a scary sort of thing he’s attempting to conjure in people’s minds.

Dr. Rajendra Pachauri inaugurating institution day On March 11, 2011, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham welcomed a special guest – Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Dr. Rajendra Pachauri. In 2007, IPCC and Al Gore were joint recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Pachauri, who is also the Director General of The Energy and Research Institute (TERI) was in our Coimbatore campus to speak to students on the occasion of the 16th Institution Day Celebrations of the Amrita School of Engineering.
“Unless we live in harmony with nature, unless we are able to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and adopt renewable energy sources and unless we drastically change our life styles, the world will increasingly become unfit for human habitation,” he warned. “Our ancestors, particularly in India, placed emphasis on ethics and social morality; they perhaps had less comforts but certainly had more fresh air and water.”
“Human actions are interfering with the delicate balance of nature,” he added. “Floods, heat waves, water scarcity, tsunamis will become frequent in the future. The impact on agriculture and healthcare will be enormous. The world will be forced to take care of more and more climate refugees in the very near future.”

“…unless we drastically change our life styles, ..” WHY doesn’t somebody ask him what how he plans on changing his lifestyle? Think of all the CO2 generated by those sex novels he writes. One Al Gore or Pachauri changing their high-flying lifestyle would equal thousands of regular people. I wouldn’t consider that quote something to be proud of either at least not for a leader of an organization that is supposed to be scientific. It’s just so much unfounded new-age eco-blathering. It’s also counter-factual. Conditions in Patchie’s own country have improved due to industry and fossil fuel usage. Patchie is not exactly living an austere life-style either.
There is no delicate balance of nature. The cosmos is a violent ever changing place and mother nature is a cruel bitch.
