Reblogged this on U.S. Constitutional Free Press.
The NSA must have some serious sh*t on McLame.
Bingo
Such was the choice America had from its two major political parties in 2008, Obama or McCain. Some choice, I voted for neither.
The folks in Arizona had a real chance in the 2010 Senate primary but had to have themselves more of McCain. That’s lame.
In fact, it is.
Once this is digested, it’s implications are even worse.
…not exactly.</em
Allahu Akbar [?æl??hu ?ak?ba?]
interj
(Non-Christian Religions / Islam) Islam an exclamation used in the call to prayer and also used as a call to the defence of Muslims, an expression of approval, and a funeral litany
[from Arabic, literally: God is most great]
But as we all know, it is informally used as a battle cry preceding deeds of atrocity.
Thank you for that – my Google doesn’t work right.
I don’t think the Etymology is in question, but thank you anyway.
It’s not a question is appropriateness, but normalcy.
I am a Muslim. We use that phrase all the time. It is common and not specifically used in fighting. When it is used while fighting it is used by people of all sorts of political beliefs.
McCain is right on this. Look at your definition. I hear it dozens or hundreds of times a day and I live in the US.
Hundreds of times a day? That is an interesting piece of information.
I say it dozens of times a day myself. When someone tells you something good, you say Allah akbar. Sort of like “praise the lord”. It is normal, common, and not associated with anything in particular.
Those who are making a big deal of this are just showing how ignorant they are of arabic and Arabic cultures.
McCain was simply correct. This is indisputable. There are many things we fight against in terrorism for good reasons. Standard use of language is not one of them. It is a distraction from real issues.
As did the Fort Hood shooter.
Christians say “Thank God” when something extraordinarily good happens, that was out of their hands and seemed impossible or highly unlikely. They usually say it under their breath, for themselves alone, with a relieved sigh and a sense of awe. They don’t shout it as they are killing people, nor do Christian mobs turn out to yell, “yes, Thank God” when they hear of such killing. Of course, the way killing is perceived in the two religions is the point. The Christians have a Commandment against it, the Muslims “not so much”.
There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet
Steven,
What is the connection? Of course he did. It is a meaningless bit of information.
Harry,
You are wrong. If for no other reason than Muslims believe in the exact same 10 commandments in the Torah.
You sound like a climate alarmist saying things that are non factual. This is clearly a subject you know nothing about. Best not to comment unless you want to look as dumb as Al Gore.
an old man in his dotage.

wow…
The Bodansky piece is here.
“Kohut: Obama shines on world stage”

Just proves you can polish a turd.
Might be hope for McCain after all.
“As President Obama heads to the G20 summit in St. Petersburg this week he remains the most popular world leader. Ordinary citizens in most countries, with some notable exceptions, say they have confidence in him to do the right thing in world affairs and many generally approve of his policies.”
And the world calls Americans stupid! 😆
So McCain traded his brain in for a turnip.

Both parties are the same monster. Now that the election is over they don’t actually care what We The People think about anything.
Ron Paul was the only real change.
Now there is no more place to go . Congratulations
