Sea level has been rising for 20,000 years. Most of that time the Earth has been cooling. Only a complete moron would believe that rising seas demonstrate warming.
I can’t even tell you guys how many times Alarmists point to Sandy as an example of sea level rise and increased storm activity… When in reality Sandy just happened to strike during the high, high tide of the year… And wasn’t even a Hurricane when it landed..
Sandy and Katrina are about bad luck… Not sea level rise and bigger storms…
Sandy came on shore here during a full moon high tide. Low lying areas that were just waiting for something finally happened. As stated, storm surge story.
Katrina? All those billions spent on levees in NO. LOL Into bank accounts that is. Besides, the worst damage to NO was areas that are below sea level and should be abandoned.
What would they be pointing to if Sandy hadn’t happened? They are really straining to keep life into this massive hoax. It’s highly depressing to witness people, who we should trust, just outright lie and exaggerate. This should have ended years ago and hard to believe it’s being going on for 25 years. I don’t trust anything coming out of the scientific community anymore. After studying the background of the ozone hoax, that would have never happened if the internet had been available at the time. A lot of the same people involved in that con are now involved in AGW. One is Ralph Cicerone, Pres. of National Academy of Science.

OK Steve, what’s the physical mechanism behind sea level rise if the planet has been cooling for most of the period in which sea level has risen?
Does the ice cube in your glass only melt when temperatures are increasing?
The seas aren’t frozen. And the water in my glass doesn’t expand either, if the temperature cools.
What does that have to do with anything?
Glacial ice increases during ice ages and decreases during interglacials. As long as the temperature is above freezing, the ice melts.
The phase change for pure water (ice to water, water to ice) occurs at 0°C. Sea water freezing/melting point is about 2°C lower. If there is an energy source, such as the sun, ice will melt well below freezing temperatures. All you have to have is temperatures at 0°C with an energy source or higher temps and ice will melt.

The water in your glass does expand as the temperature falls from 40F(4C) to 32F (0C).
We are in big trouble if sea level stops rising – the next glacial is just around the corner.

The sea level has been rising recently (last 150 years) at about 1-2mm per year. Hardly alarming. The seas were at least a few feet higher during the climate optimums…Medieval, Roman, etc.
We are close enough to equilibrium that it is sometimes falling, i.e. in the 70’s and ~2006-7. That we are close enough to a temperature at which the continents start gaining ice should alarm you.

Steven, I thought the cooling had been for about the last 8k years and the drop was estimated to be about 1°C. Of course this is the mythical global temperature and all I see is true climate science: averages without associated “error bars.” I’m not sure how much statistically significant inference can be made on which way the temperature actually went.
Yes they can’t blame natural causes. And if humans have effect it’s more likely the Army Corps of Engineers carving out the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, including in Chesapeake Bay when the bridge-tunnel was built. Can’t blame gov’t work, nope.
